Connection Issues For People On The Same Internet
I've been having this problem every since Rise of Iron. My roommate and I cannot connect to the same game. Keeps popping up "Unable to join the target player. Please try again." Both of our NAT is Open. Excellent download speeds. We can get in every now and then by closing and open the app over and over but it takes forever. This is on Xbox One. We can join party chats and other games just fine. Any fix for this?

I had the same issue as you and Bungie has yet to fix this issue. Although I'm in PS4, this method should work for you (hopefully) https://youtu.be/WjkYx3J8NYo Try and join local fire team. Once you get the error message saying you can't, make sure you cycle BOTH consoles. Once you do that, just log back in, select character and try and connect to your friend. If this doesn't work for you, I do apologize. It works for me and it sucks seeing people who can't play because of a Bungie screw up. That's the only method I know. Good Luck.
