Happiest Non-Raid Destiny Moment

I've logged a few hours on destiny since the beta. Not the most, but certainly not the least. I typically don't raid, but I've done a few, and for the most part they've been great experiences. This usually means that I can be found doing strikes or patrols for fun. My friend (ilikemtdew) and I were doing some patrols on Venus in Year One. We happened to be passing the Vault and saw a raid group trying to open the door. We jumped into the fray, and split up to the Left and Right plates and quickly helped crack that door on the Vault. Just as the sound of the door came across the speakers I said to ilikemtdew, "Quick! Get on your sparrow and beat them all to the door. Let's wave to them and celebrate while they all run in." I thought it would be a virtual high five to them as they ran in. A "have fun storming the castle" moment if you will. We figured that they would just run by and nothing else would be done. No. This is the moment that Destiny became such a better game than all the others. As we were dancing and waving, each player, mostly Titans, stopped and saluted or waved to us as they ran into the Vault. I'm not sure what happened with their raid if they ever completed it or not. It was just something nice to help some other guardians out. To this day if I'm riding by on Venus, I'll take a quick look to see if anyone is trying to open that door. Now call that what you will, but we were a bit touched and geeked out to say the least. So my question was, "What is your happiest Non-Raid Destiny moment?" Is it swooping in at the last moment to help a beleaguered fireteam destroy Urzok the Hated, while the wolves were prowling, after a Warsat dropped, and the forces moved against one another all at once in Skywatch, or helping some random player find that elusive dead ghost?

  • I made it a priority to always help at the spire regardless of how good the raid team was doing. I'd then run up to the door, wave them off and then continue on my way.
