The First Curse Problem

So I'm the guy who used The First Curse for a little under 2 months straight when it came out trying to prove if it was a good gun or not. It worked great, but it didn't perform consistently (lol hand cannon RNG). I always griped if the gun was a 2 shot kill it would be great, even if only with its perk. On min armor guardians it can 2 shot but almost no one in the world plays crucible with that low of armor. (Weapons of Light/First Curse was a fun combo but always messed up by the constant snipers in the past). Today the Crucible rewards gave me back to back Ill Wills.... I dismantled the first one because I didn't want it. I kept the 2nd one just because I thought I had to at that point. Its got Outlaw, Hammer Forged, and Third Eye. Its not near exact stats of The First Curse. So I equip it. I get ready for 3 shot kills because well my exotic hand cannon could only do 3 shots to kill. WHAT THE **** IS THIS. WHY AM I KILLING PEOPLE IN 2 SHOTS WITH A ****ING PURPLE ****ING HAND CANNON. WHAT ****ED UP **** IS THIS. Your out here telling me purple hand cannons can do 2 shot kills but The First Curse can't. Just fix all the guns. This game is sad. Its actually got slightly less impact but more stability then the first curse. And I'm out there having to 3 shot with an exotic hand cannon. Man, fix this damn gun.     • I have my ILL WILL that is the same archetype with range finder and reactive reload. It's funny how a legendary has better perks than TFC

      • It's not a pvp intended hand cannon. It's designed to be a pve hunting pistol. Try using it in poe or missions or strikes with a ton of adds, that's what the chain of curses perk is made for

        • I tried using The Worst Curse for a few days after I got it, and as a dedicated hand cannon user since the beta, I was utterly disappointed with how it performed. Even with the exotic perk active, it's still outshined by a good perk roll on Ill Will or Lord High Fixer (and maybe other hand cannons I can't recall). Great idea, poorly executed. As much as I hate the idea of the rumored fresh start in Destiny 2, if it means that Bungie will finally figure out how to properly balance weapons without crippling cool guns, then I can get behind it.

          • Unless there is a damage perk to drop the kill time to 2 shots, that archetype of hand cannon is always doomed to fail. And I say this as someone who loves my ill will, timur's lash etc. But I love these because they have lucky rounds, final rounds, or crowd control. First curse was doomed from day one for not having any of these perks. It's simply a slower kill time than all other archetypes of hand cannons and it will never be used competitively. Kill time talks. And by the way, if you killed someone in 2 shots (95 each), it's because they are running all agility and no armor. At least that's how it was back in the day unless Bungie changed that

              • It can two shot low armored players. It's a low rof. I'm not a fan of it. But in pve it is beast

              • They both do the exact same amount of damage: 95 per headshot. Unless you're running soft ballistics on TFC, on which that will do 93 to the head.

              • Exotics aren't nearly as special and effective as they once were.
