I still dabble from time to time. Sometime in long for it when I encounter a classic DnD enemy like Beholder in a videogame rpg, or of a mace does extra damage to skeletons for example. It really is quite fun. You know how most "gamers" would call Skyrim or Fallout "not real rpgs"? Well tabletop gamers can say the very same thing about even the most detailed videogame rpg. But it does take loads of time, work and dedication to run a game. I prefer more free style storytelling campaigns but mostly tabletop gamers run pre-made campaigns.
