Gunslingers
I'm curious, fellow guardians. For those of us who play as Hunters, more specifically who main Gunslingers; What is it that you love about the subclass? It's got some draw backs and the lack of shield during Golden Gun is definitely annoying to say the least. Despite that, I love the challenge of using the throwing knife, the thrill of Golden Gun, and wielding starlight. I have great respect for the Warlocks and Titans, but to me the reward of being a Gunslinger comes with precision kills and having to make use of fewer techniques. Nighstalkers and Bladedancers have invisibility, toxic smoke, Super-cancelling abilities, etc. I feel like Gunslinger is less of a "gimmick", for lack of a better term. It's about skill. Plenty of Guardians have dodged my Golden Gun shots and I've been felled by snipers the moment I popped the Super. It's about timing, patience, and opportunity in my opinion. Fellow Guardians, what's your opinion?

I like using Gunslinger for many reasons. It is satisfying getting a grenade kill; all of the 'nades are not very good. IMO The super is fun for 6v6 gamemodes and it is fun to map people with a fiery pistol you can pull out of your arsehole. Gunslingers Trance is fun with scouts because stability. Chain of Woe is fun because fast reload speed after a precision kill. Throwing knives are so fun to use because I feel rewarded whenever I get a kill with a Throwing Knive.

2 RepliesThere was a time when gunslinger was a great pvp class with its powerful super, 2 throwing knives that could nearly one shot with burn, and 2 tripmines if using the spine. The build clearly revolved around equipment use and was very fun if you could master a passive yet somehow aggressive play style. Sadly the nerfs have really hurt that playstyle

I mostly use because of the exotic helmet thst gives one shot for 6 times damage, very helpful in pve. You kinda have to go with bladedancer for pvp tho, auto kills

3 RepliesTripmines and throwing knives are the best for me. Nothing more satisfying than a Stick Around medal or getting a grenade kill when you are on the other side of the map.

I like how it focuses on the actual gunskill of its user. Rewarding headshots and timing of golden gun shots is great. Though i wish more of its perks werent so usless like scavenger, circle of life, and over the horizon

1 ReplyGunslinger has the most powerful super Ever notice that other supers get challenged by non supered guardians except golden gun? Ever notice strikers challenge other supers but not golden gun? It's one shot everything damage makes it the most powerful super lol. Don't bitch about it not having armor. The armored supers get challenged WAY more than golden gun. I hear a blade dancer I run at him I hear a sun singer i run at him and fight I hear a gunslinger and I haul ass because I know I'm not getting close enough to challenge. And he can destroy me the map away. So again. Don't bitch about the lack of armor. Even players that are better than me run from it. Watch wish or mtashed against armored supers they challenge But when it comes to a GG they don't challenge lol.

2 RepliesIts titled "gunslinger" for a reason, as a shout out to western gunfighters who just had fast, accurate gunplay to survive. The class perks all revolve around precision shooting and reward you for doing such. No matter what you main, if you can't respect a good gunslinger, you should re evaluate why you play FPS

As a gunslinger pvp main I've always loved the thrill of the throwing knife and love watching people walk backwards into my tripmines it feels amazing it also is less ability based than the other two subclasses and mostly the higher gun skill you need to be a true gunslinger.

1 ReplyFor me, I tend to forget that I have my abilities, (ie: nades, throwing knife, super), so Gunslinger rewards just straight gunplay. If I forget about the abilities, ive still got Chain Of Woe and Gunslingers Trance. Plus I used Gunslinger over Bladedancer through all of year 1, so Im used to it. As for Nightstalker, I pretty much only use it for high-level PvE stuff like raids and nightfalls.

1 ReplyI feel like I'm gimping myself because there just aren't any easymode abilities when it comes to playing Gunslinger. Everything requires a quick, precise aim and even then it usually isn't good enough. However, I love throwing knives and would rather play with panache than mere efficiency.

1 ReplyGunslinger are great fun and they reward those whose skills rest in gunplay more than use of abilities. A Gunslinger can be the perfect addition to a skilled team the ability to burn down a target so quickly and precisely can continue your fireteams momentum through either a tough section in a strike to a big push in pvp if precision and bullets are your calling. In terms of Gunslinger and armor during super it's a tough call it's been two years without and it operates perfectly fine in pvp I more annoyed with no armor in pve the worst is trying to activate a golden gun in a nightfall just to be one shot killed by a boomers splash damage or feeling like peeking with your super is a coin toss cause a few good shots will down ya that's when I wish golden gun had extra armor. Otherwise only change I would make would be to undo the trip mine nerf.

3 RepliesDon't forget that Sunsinger takes way more skill now. And they are the most to get headshotted by a sniper when self res not gunslingers.
