EDIT : for those who may not know, in the past, no matter what you did to your characters or items, the game always "remembered" your progress, you may lose items, but your kiosk and grimoire would always remain in tact, carry on
some people have noticed that making new characters or switching characters lowers your grimoire as of year 3, in some extreme cases, permanently lowering your grimoire
in this weeks update, they talked about the issue, and did not intend to fix the situation, that has NEVER been an issue before, the official statement below :
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Destiny: Rise of Iron Grimoire
Players may lose Grimoire Cards earned in Destiny: Rise of Iron if the Character on which the card was earned is deleted. As always, please exercise caution when deleting Characters or dismantling gear.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
not only is this the most alarming threat to player progression the game has ever seen, who knows what else year 3 has effected? grimoire loss is the only one so far
if you delete the character you earned a certain weapon bounty on, will the game "forget" you did the bounty and take the weapon away? who knows
bungie does, and they have made it clear it was intentional
please upvote for a reply from cozmo, and vote in the polls
please do both of these even if you agree with the new method
if need be, upvote and then vote against the poll, i don't care if you support me personally, just please get this trending so that we can get a more in depth response to what devs plan to do with the situation moving forward

I HAVE NOT deleted any characters ever, yet my Grimoire score has dropped 95pts overnight?? PLEASE EXPLAIN BUNGIE!!!!
-
It's year 3, and I have a solution. Stop deleting characters to farm for gear in VoG. They fixed that drop problem. You don't need to restart every 2 days anymore. There's no threat to character progression unless you INTENTIONALLY delete your character. If you delete something, why do you expect it to still be there?
-
This what happens when idiots have access to internet...
-
Your cards represent experiences your character went through while playing. If the character is "killed" by deletion, those memories go with them. Makes sense.
-
-
So, unsure why, but my grimoire changes between my hunter and warlock? I thought grimoire was account wide?
-
Got to 5245 last night after beating raid. Swapped to my hunter. Dropped to 5100. Wtf
-
This is the dumbest thing ever. @cozmo @deej WAKE UP. they need to fix this asap
-
This is ridiculous. On my Titan I'm 5425 and beat the raid with. I then today go to my hunter and beat the raid and get 3 of 4 siva. After the raid, the 3 siva grimoire points didn't go to titan. This is very annoying. Titan: 5425 Hunter: 5355 Lock: 5300 Very annoying.
-
Classic bungie.
-
When you delete a character you're asking the game to "forget" everything about them, so why are complaining that you're losing things for deleting a character?
-
So that explains why my grimore went down last night. I deleted all my year 1 exotics. HONESTLY BUNGIE ARE YOU -blam!-ING SERIOUS WITH THIS BULLSHIT! I SWEAR YOU INTENTIONALLY TRY TO PISS US OFF.
-
My grimoire score is different and I haven't deleted anyone. I think it's the SIVA clusters. They only count on one character.
-
Reading must be hard. Its listed under known bugs. Known bugs known bugs known bugs
-
I lost some switching chars
-
Except for the fact that they've stated that they are actively investigating the issue.
-
I've also noticed that my grimoire score shows different values depending on which character I play. Also when I switch characters it will show all of the siva and khovostov grimoire card on the bottom of the screen as well as fwc rank ups. Weird part of the fwc thing is that I haven't been in fwc in months.
-
its what people get for deleting a character to speed through the exotic gun mission. no point in deleting a character. make one of each and play the game.
-
Considering many people used character deletion as a form of stat boosting, well... joke's on them.
-
Curse those grimoire eating space aids!
-
They're probably doing that in preparation for destiny 2. They'll say "you can only transfer one character"
-
So I haven't deleted characters since basically the beginning but my Titan is 5425 but hunter is 3535. What is going on?
-
Dont care about grimoire, lapdances ftw.
-
not only is this the most alarming threat to player progression the game has ever seen
Lmao...

As it was listed under "known bugs" it's proabbly gonna be patched.
