Fix the stupid connection issues

I guess bungie won't let me comment on their page directly. Probably because they don't want to own up to their shitty customer service. They did an update 9.8.16 to fix issues about connecting to people on local networks. Not only did they not fix it, they made it worse. My boyfriend and i only have 3 days together to play it, and three attempts have been a struggle. Day one, two attempts to get connected, and once we finally did, we kept getting thrown around in matches because we kept getting contacting destiny servers issues. We've been living together a month and never had these issues before. Second day, three attempts and then a shitty raid team -blam!-ed it up for me. I'm at warpriest in hard mode and i have tonight and tomorrow to attempt to complete the raid or i lose my ability to earn my triumphs. Tonight is the third attempt. We've been trying to log in together for an hour. No success. At all. No amount of logging in and out, no amount of hard resets on the box, of the modem, nothing will connect us. And destiny techs are sitting back, laughing their asses off, ignoring us entirely. I want my -blam!-ing money back, all of it. You can keep your stupid rise of iron expansion, you can give me my -blam!-ing money back that i spent trying to enjoy time with my boyfriend. As far as I'm concerned, bungie, you can take your nerfing bullshit and your -blam!-ed up concept of customer service and you can shove it so far up your ass you can taste it.

  • The following video is to help players that share the same Internet connection over an local network or home network to be able to play together again on Destiny. Here are the following steps to resolving this issue: 1. Push the PS button [located in the middle of your controller]. 2. Go over to the settings and enter settings [X]. 3. Scroll down to network and enter network [X]. 4. Uncheck the box for connect to the Internet [X] and scroll down to test Internet connection to make sure it's not connected [X]. 5. Return to network and scroll back up to connect to the Internet and check the box by pushing enter [X]. 6. Scroll back down to test Internet connection and enter [X] and once the test is completed return back to Destiny by pushing the PS button and selecting the title. 7. Follow the on screen directions and start up the game, select your character and once in orbit go to roster and join your friend. 8. Enjoy! *Note: These steps must be completed on every console member on the same local network [home] at the same time. If you or anyone on your local network [home] close the game application and/or powers off their system. All parties will have to repeat this process again in order to play together. This is only a quicker temporarily fix! Additional content: http://paypal.me/signofzodiac http://twenty20.com/signofzodiac http://about.me/signofzodiac

  • There are alot of people that have complained about this but do what you can on your end to see if you can fix it. That being said my wife and I play on the same network right next to each other and we have never had any problems. 1. Get off wifi if you are using it. It is horrible for gaming. Get hard wired. 2. Change the network name of your consoles. By default both consoles have the same name and it can cause problems. 3. Set each console with a static IP. 4. Go through the network troubleshooting guide to make sure the rest of your network is set up properly. Good luck

As noted in their news section, that adjustment was for one issue they were trying to address with local network multiplayer issues. There are two other issues they are planning to address during future patch cycle(s).
