I love this damn cloak. It's part of my Guardian. I got it straight away when I decided I wanted it (very rare occurrence) and haven't taken it off since. I was hoping that when class items became shader compatible with the new update that my cloak would be an exception given the fact it's based off an important character, sadly that was not the case.
I know a lot of people wanted this change for class items and i'm glad they got it but as usual the update has missed an important point for the community...... choice. Why can't we decide for ourselves if our class items, armor or whatever is effected or not? Take Twilight Garrison as another example. A lot of people have been asking for it to be shader compatible but what about the people that like it the way it is? (assuming these people exist lol) when/if the change comes you will be taking away the choice of those players to have their guardian look the way they want.
One of the reasons I liked the original colour so much is because it actually gave my Guardian some colour and flare. Most of the shaders in Destiny just don't look quite right so I normally stick with the DO shaders or something similar as they look the best but that doesn't mean I want my Guardian to be complete void of any colour and my Taniks cloak let me do this without resorting to using shaders that I don't like.
I really think the next step forward beyond Chroma & Ornaments is letting us choose what pieces of armor are effected by shaders or even mixing & matching shaders and i'm not expecting that to come any time soon but until then could we at least have some sort of colour nodes on unique pieces of gear/gear that doesn't normally change colour so we can keep our Guardians OUR Guardians and not just another Crucible Clone?
Rant over. Please bump if you agree.

Buy Taniks a house for he is homeless

Mine changes with each shader, and just about every other one in my inventory too.

How about we trade? Make taniks cloak not affected by shaders and twilight garrison can be affected by shaders. Its a win-win.
in all seriousness though, there should be a toggle option.
It would be nice to select whether it changes with the shader or not with an extra node in the perk tree. The DO revenant shader with the cloak looks sick though - it comes out black with gold detail

Bump. I want Cosmic Joke back

Have you tried it with the Ascendant Plane shader? If not, try that.

Some cloaks are barely affected such as the gold and white cloak sold by the speaker, and this should also not be affected and I agree

I agree with this post. The cloak is more distinct if it is not blended with the shader, it should remain it's original colors.

Bungie should have thought of something like this. It's surprising that it's not already implemented.

This would be cool.
