Tapir - A Perfect Example

It's becoming clear that Destiny isn't quite living up to its potential or its touted public image. Destiny has been marketed as a constantly-changing, future-facing, decade-long franchise — yet Bungie seems to believe that they are not responsible to be the new benchmark of dedication to their fans. I understand that Destiny fans can be whiny, obviously Bungie can't please everyone, but Bungie could at least show initiative to their fans. Bungie has a fantastic opportunity to have the best company-user relationship in the gaming industry. Not only that, they are obligated to become that based on Destiny's "touted image." But they've failed to create that rapport or show that initiative. The recent tapir error code issue is a good example of this. The issue, and Bungie's sparsity of communication, shows a lack of the initiative that the fanbase and the franchise deserves. Not to mention this seems to be affecting Legacy players who upgraded recently, which is a hilarious slap to the face to the userbase that's already dealt with the most bs. (I wrote this after reading an argument on Facebook [where users have taken to addressing their complaints because Bungie isn't giving any updates on the actual Help Forums] between a user who was commenting on tapir and a user who said Bungie is under no obligation to provide updates on the issue. I think they are, and the community should hold them to that. Providing that information, and perhaps giving a discount on RoI/Destiny: The Collection Upgrade or making those items free for affected users could restore and build a better rapport with the users. Bungie is losing players, they need to get their act together and show the players the respect that they — and their money — deserve. ) That is all.
