Destiny the Collection Upgrade- "Reason" for non-availability

After an hour long chat discussion with an xbox customer service rep, the answer I got was that Bungie and microsoft are working on an update to fix the issue as soon as possible. It sounded like there was some type of glitch or problem with the update version of the collection they are trying to solve. If this is the truth, I wish they would've posted this or informed us because its been like that for weeks. All I ask from Microsoft and Bungie (I looked on playstations store also, you can't purchase that version either) is a little communication. If there was some I couldn't find it easily, and I haven't seen any Bungie staff commenting on this on the forums either.

    • Did you ever get an answer? I have tried everything and still can't purchase. Refreshing licenses on the Xbox one - clearing cache and even borrowing discs to install destiny / taken King onto the console to purchase. Xbox / Microsoft have no clue and just keep saying it's available on the 19 September? I have heard so many conflicting answers I have 0 clue myself now

    • My opinion is that there wasn't any communication to begin with until we started posting forum updates. Because they saw it as a 'store' problem, the mentors just kept telling us to talk to Microsoft. And Microsoft didn't fully understand how the upgrade worked, and that's why they kept giving us mixed responses. They didn't see it as a glitch, they just saw it as any other problem a purchase could have with any other game. Well, at least now they're working on a fix for fit. Hope this means I don't need to spend $90 (Aus)

    • My impression is this - Bungie don't give a Donald. They are giving majority of players the run around till they buy the 60 dollar version. The agents even said they have had numerous complaints / requests on this issue. I spent an hour also on the phone trying to resolve this issue. Clearing cache, resetting and restoring licenses, verifying purchases, reinstalling and ordering through the website ect ect ect......Nothing worked. They came back at the end of an hour with "the discounted qcontent isn't available till the 19 September" The 60 dollar version can be purchased *without* hinderance and Microsoft/Xbox market place have 0 clue. They had ALL the records of all purchases and said its only ready on the 19 sept. Please give us a clear answer here? The advertising doesn't state that returning or upgrading players need to wait till release/19 September to "upgrade."

      • Yeah, even a moderator mentioning a few words would be nice, I'm starting to lose hope.

        • Everyone having this problem has obviously invested a bunch of money into Destiny. I bet a lot of these people have bought the DLC as its come out, not bought the $60 Taken King edition with everything on it (im sure some people who are having this problem to have done this but I bet most are people who have played from the start, like me). I myself have spent $150 on the ghost edition from day one. The ghost was cool, but the game was a dissappointment considering your pedigree in campaign gameplay and story Bungie. The least you could do is respond to people who have supported your product, and still want to support your product but can't even purchase your product.

          • Yes. A mention directly from Bungie would be nice to assure people that it is being looked into and even better would be an announcement when it is fixed. Bungie, a help article would go a long way in helping people who are having this issue.

          • If I didn't make it clear what I am talking about, Destiny the collection upgrade is for people who have all the content/DLC from the xbox 360 edition and are eligible to upgrade to Destiny for the xbox one with all DLC content and the upcoming Rise of Iron when it's coming out for $40 instead of $60 which is a price point I'm okay with. The problem in question, for weeks (most likely more) some people cannot purchase it through the microsoft store, even though they have all the content associated with their gamertag. The whole thing that was advertised is that if eligible, you can pre-purchase and play all current Destiny content on the Xbox One "today" and get the Rise of Iron when it releases. It's posted on the description, and is possible for the full priced non-upgrade Destiny collection, but not for the $40 upgrade version of it.
