Why do shotguns have such unrealistically Terrible range??
The rule of thumb for BIRDSHOT is 40 inches of spread at 40 yards.
Not 40 inches of spread at 4ft, also buckshot has even less spread and more range, and slugs are easily effective at 100yds before they start losing significant amounts of KE. Why are our futuristic sci-fi space zombie gaurdians using shit awful shotguns that perform worse than an 18th century blunderbuss??
Now, sidearms could use either a range buff or damage buff. They are basically TLW with a deeper mag and not all of them are hitscan... so why use them?
Fusions.... a damage buff, so they are viable in PvE And so that by extension they have more range and the max impact archetype can OHK roaming supers.

Otherwise people would just shotgun each other since they are a OHOK weapon. Shotguns need a buff? Are you mad? The majority of Shorguns have decent to stupidly unrealistic good range... im just going to assume your using a terrible Shotgun/roll or you suck at using Shotguns...

Rifled barrel n reinforced barrel need to be deleted off shotguns. Make all shotguns have the range of 'in times of need' it will make crucible more balanced thus making Pvp players use other things for once. like use a primary for a change and when I mean a primary I don't mean the uni. Literally every match there are at least 80% of players relying on shotguns. Trying to kill with primary? NOPE two bum rushers with shotguns. Lmao they would even be sitting ducks camping behind corners with a shotgun just waiting for you to move up because they are scared so they rely on shotguns. 'Oh I'm so "pro" because I spam shotguns that has 0 accuracy because I'm terrible with primary weapons'

For the same reason those future warriors are running around with handguns and assault rifles that take a half a magazine to kill anything. FPS gamers are devoted to the notion that a shotgun is basically a very LOUD melee weapon....and anytime shotguns start to behave in any way that resembles reality we start hearing complaints of "getting sniped". Likewise whan ARs and other primary weapons start to behave realistically we hear "Call of Duty time to kill".

Just remove the damage nerfs for PvE, for fusions remove the bolt despawn on death, and I think sidearms are in a good place.

Shotguns are already abused where they're at now in power. The only thing needing buffed is primaries and sidearms. Fusions and heavy are fine where they're at. Snipers need a de-scope on head shots though. If they did all that simple work crucible would be pretty balanced.

In my opinion, in the last update fusions should have gotten a range and accuracy buff, not a stability buff.

Shotguns have little range because they have pellet spread and armor is pretty technologically superior. They don't need a range need they need a mobility to help close the gap. Fusions need to get all the 80+ impact Fusions and make then 4 pellets instead of 5 to make them competitive. Sidearms don't need a change because they do what they need to, but need more variety. I reccomend Suros Sidearms with increased accuracy instead of velocity, and the addition of the Repeater Perk that would make the weapon 2 burst.

Shotguns are fine. I'd want a slight decrease to max range shotguns only, (CTD, PC+1, etc..) and only by like two points. Then an increase to damage for all shotguns by 10% to 25% depending on archetype. Sidearms could use an increase to range and stability. Then removal of them self centering after shooting and a decrease to body shot damage. Fusions are fine. If they increase their performance (any stat) then they'd need their charge rate increased.

Only problem with shotguns is inconsistency, like hand cannons. Fusions and side arms are fine.

Bump for the buff to shotguns and fusions. Agree with a damage buff for sidearms, but definitely not range.

If sidearms got any buff outside of slight range or reload boosts they would be OP. Within their intended range they are crazy good. Well, Hakke variants at least, the reef sidearms are just awful.
