Hey guys Pyro with another subclass guide. This time I will be sharing my build for the Stormcaller, my main subclass. Honestly, Stormcaller, in my opinion, is one of the top subclasses in the game. Please note that this build is strictly my opinion, but feel free to leave your recommendations in the comments below because I would love to try out some of your ideas for builds. With that said, let's get into it!!
P.S. Sorry this guide is late. Will be posting first Titan build as well today.
Grenades: Storm Grenade or Arcbolt Grenade. This for me is dependent on game type. Objective based game modes I love Storm Grenade for the AoE damage, but for other occasions I prefer Arcbolts for its reliability.
Glide: Focused Burst. This is obvious. Warlock is the slowest class, so this glide allows you to travel faster than normal.
Stormtrance: Ionic Blink. The main problem with the Stormcaller super is mobility, so Ionic Blink makes it harder for enemies to damage you. Plus, it makes it harder for opponents to snipe you out of your super.
Melee: Amplitude. There is no other option to pick here. With this perk you have the longest ranged melee, allowing you to stay farther from enemies trying to shotgun you. Combined with a max ranged shotgun and you can pull off deadly shotgun-melee combos.
Passive Perk 1: Pulsewave or Transcendence. Personally I choose Pulsewave because it's basically Underdog build into the subclass. Increased movement speed and weapon handling is always beneficial. Although Transcendence extends your super duration, it limits your use of your grenade, which I could live with, and your melee, the most iconic thing about the Stromcaller. However, there are ways to work around this as I'll explain later.
Passive Perk 2: Electrostatic Mind. Personally, I run Electrostatic Mind in team play and Perpetual Charge in rumble because Electrostatic Mind isn't necessary. Arc web is great, giving storm grenades the ability to kill with other near by guardians, but it is only effective if the guardians are a certain distance from each other. Perpetual Charge is straight forward. I like having my abilities on hand at all times and this makes it a bit easier to do so. However, I find it best effective when your not playing with a team because of how powerful Electrostatic Mind is. Reduced super cool down when nearby allies is too good to pass up, as Electrostatic Mind can cut your super recharge time to under 3 minutes when near 3+ allies and max intellect.
Now for the exotics. The absolute best exotic for the Stormcaller is the Claws of Ahamkara because having 2 extra long range melees is just too good an offer to pass up. Other options would be The Impossible Machines for Landfall and Ionic Blink, The Ram for increased armor while in Stormtrance, and the Voidfang Vestments for grenade recharge. However, the only reason I recommend Voidfang is because it allows you to run a 5/1/5 build and not have to worry about you grenade cool down, which means you can take more advantage of Transcendence. Personally, I still prefer Claws.
That concludes this guide. Next up I will start on the Titan subclasses. Just know that if anything sounds pretty dumb in these next three builds, it's because I have little experience playing Titan. With that said, I would really appreciate any comments you have once I post the Titan builds. Catch you guys later.

That's almost exactly what I use for my stormcaller but I switched to voidwalker from sunsinger I'm doing really good im consistent in PvP I almost never go negative I'm liking even moved my k/d up
-
How do you usually place your Storm Grenades? I love them, but I can't ever seem to make contact with targets on a reliable basis.
-
Ill have to try this build on my warlock sometime. Honestly I didnt think of Stormcaller being a top tier subclass for pvp considering how frail the class from my encounters. I usually dont worry too much about them like I would a blade dancer or sunbreaker, mainly because it seems easy to take them out from a distance or their blindside. Do alot of warlocks run it at all compared to sunsinger or voidwalker?

You really don't need a guide to know the most popular/effective builds these days. Ten seconds of PvP will educate a person just fine, since variation is a mystery to this community.
-
Defender is Op if you know how to use it correctly and effectively.
-
Sunbreaker: (run with Armormentarium) Fusion or Incendiary Grenades Increased Control Suncharge Thermal Vent Spec for Armor and Recovery Fleetfire Simmering Flames
-
My favorite sunsinger build Solar grenades With radiance on faster cool down on grenades and melees. Viking funeral and touch of flame Pair with sun breakers and max discipline for a Grenade every 25 seconds, and even faster during radiance https://youtu.be/gXzMD065HEk

Edited by mayo68: 8/30/2016 12:06:21 PMMy first stormcaller build was with the claws, but it does have a weakness. When used with transcendence you must wait for both charges to be full before going super. At times I found myself waiting to go super to take advantage of transcendence, and if you unforchanately just double pimp handed someone, that could take awhile. Now a days I equipe the ram so I can concentrate on recovery and agility on my build while receiving the added armor the ram offers. Also makes switching to voidwalker quicker in between matches as I wear it for this build as well.

Are you going to do a gunslinger build anytime soon? I would want to see it compared to what I am going to run once my hunter is fully upgraded.
-
Good post. I hadn't thought of using voidfang for the 5/1/5 build.

Edited by Fabio the Senate: 8/30/2016 2:26:45 AMNightstalker: (run with Sealed Ahamkara Grasps) Spike Grenade Quiver Controlled Jump for extra recovery (in Crucible that third jump doesn't do too much without Bones of Eao) Snare Lockdown Predator Path Unknown Way of the Nomad Max Strength and Discipline Run with a scout and sidearm/shotgun Profit

I basically use the same setup except when you use transcendence don't use the claws because you'll need both melees charged for the perk to work
-
Arcbolt and reliability are 2 words that don't go together in the same sentence. Firebolt cam join its arcbolts brethren
-
Why do you start with "pyro here" ? We can all clearly see your gamer tag....
-
It doesn't matter what you run on any warlock subclass. All you have to do is RB + LB.

Bumper the bump
-
Bump for later.
-
i prefer a chain lightning build focused around using arc web and pulse grenades, while using chain lightning and feedback to maximize your chain output and finally superconductor the kill even more with your super
-
Builds? That doesn't really exist in destiny
-
Stormcaller is OP whatever you use. Post done.

Bump for later

Do other ppl not now how to use subclasses or something?
