Do you prefer fast paced gameplay or slow paced gameplay?

Guys to clarify, when I say fast paced I don't mean CoD paced, more like year 1 (aside from Thorn and Last Word) or early year 2 in the pulse rifle meta. I'm sorry but the excessive nerfs to every single aspect of the game has made the game boring. Every weapon type, class, and ability is weaker than it was at the start of the game, and for no reason whatsoever other than the complaints of sore losers, an irrational fear of power creep, and balancing that is done by relative judgement rather than using a baseline. It's not fun playing a game where your guns shoot paper. It's not fun that more than half of gunfights end in someone running away rather than someone getting a kill. It's not fun that Rumble matches end in time limit. That's right, the most aggressive and hectic game mode ends before anyone can reach 2500 score. It's a joke. Why has it come to this? Because of incompetent balancing, mainly coming in one of three forms. 1. Basing judgements and making changes based on complaints rather than logical thinking Examples include: the Sunsinger nerfs where one perk, Viking Funeral, needed to be needed rather than the whole class; the shotgun nerf, where reducing range was all that was needed but instead handling and mobility were nerfed; the recent Bladedancer nerfs... like come on who the hell in their right mind would think that Bladedancer was overpowered?! It's all because of the complaints. The complaints need to be looked at logically and evaluated in a rational manner. Just because something is overused or it is complained about doesn't mean it needs a nerf. Maybe other things need a buff. Maybe people are just butthurt. How can this be discerned? Logical thinking. 2. An irrational fear of power creep Buffing does not always entail power creep. Yes sometimes things need a nerf but not every damn time! I think it's rather telling that every single patch has implemented some sort of nerf, however many patches have not included any buffs. There is a clear disparity here. This leads into my next point, 3. Relative balance Balance cannot be done relatively. For example, when balancing auto rifles, you shouldn't say "oh they should be on the level of pulse rifles in terms of time to kill". Instead, you should say "pulse rifles and auto rifles should be on a 0.75 second time to kill". Balancing relatively means that the pace of the game is not consistent and leads to the situation we have now with a slow ass game. The point of reference for balance should be an independent set point rather than being another weapon or class or ability. Please Bungie be more logical and effective with balancing and make the game fun again by speeding up the pace. I'm here to play a first person shooter not a camping simulator.
