Why is this becoming a common trend in games?

Game is introduced, said to provide a greater experience than anything up to this point, gain hype by advertising & interaction with community. Game launches & leaves everyone disappointed due to lacking substance or, in some cases, the game is riddled with bugs. Or you can buy the DLC if you want to play the game we showed you at first. Honestly, nothing these days gets me excited because shortly after releases, all I hear/see is people warning others not to buy the game. Future game developers, please become conscious of this & combat it in the future.

Honestly though, you keep buying it, they'll keep dishing it out. I haven't bought a single game in the past 5months, there is simply nothing good out, and there hasn't been for a long time. Last gen titles were so much better, no idea what went wrong this gen.
