Gaming as a parent.

My daughter is almost 5 months old now, and I've come to realize that I can't enjoy video games like I used to. I'm constantly stressed. Video games used to be an escape for me, something I could enjoy while not worrying about the rest of the world. This has proved impossible recently. Whenever I'm not working I constantly worry about when the baby will wake up(since I work nights) and can't enjoy really anything anymore. I love her to death, but I can't just sit and relax playing video games anymore. I used to game probably 8 hours a day when I wasn't working, and now I haven't touched a game in 3 weeks. My days off i switch around my schedule from staying up until 7am to being awake at 7am. I used to be a hardcore gamer, and now I find trouble in even playing for an hour. I mean what's the point when my baby can't stay happy for more than 20 minutes at a time? I can't pause or save with every game, so I've found that not playing anything frustrates me a little less. Are any of you parents? And if so, does this get easier or should I just try and find a new hobby? I'm 27 and I've been a gamer since I was probably 4 or 5. I knew it would change my life when I had a kid, but for me to quit gaming completely for weeks at a time? That was not what I was expecting. Edit: Thanks for the feedback guys, I appreciate it. I'm lucky to have my daughter and if it means cutting back on gaming then so be it. I'm just going to suck it up for now and focus on the positives. Family means everything to me and I'm gonna make sure she gets the love she needs, video games and free time can wait. I know one day I'll be able to sit down and play games with her, that'll be awesome. Happy gaming #gaming. Play a couple extra hours for me will ya? Lol.
