So the title sounds a little harsh, but I'm honestly just baffled and looking for genuine answers. The King's Fall raid has been out for almost a calendar year. However, there are still a lot of guardians who are unable to perform the platform jumping at daughter's or know which plate to go back to (the argument over plates or numbers being a big problem at daughter's).
Question 1: Why do people insist on doing numbered plates at daughter's? A good group should be able to adapt to either method. However, when you're in a PUG or with less experienced players keeping the same plates is the safest option. No one has to stop and look for the relic and then count until they figure out which plate to run to. You just run to the same plate unless you're torn and then at that time you would call out your plate position for the previous torn person to cover that plate. Easy Peasy. AND YET people insist on doing numbers so that these newbs can all stand around with pee dripping into their tireless striders not knowing where to run to. I don't get it.
Question 2: Why can't people platform jump after all of this time? Enough said. WHAT THE F!!!!
I did LFG last night and some titan put a bubble on top of the group trying to shoot at Ir Anuk. OMG. Needless to say it was too frustrating to take my baby huntress (who I created on Saturday) through the raid.
Before King's Fall was released I believe Bungie put out a stat saying that only around 17% of guardians had completed a raid. I would bet that number is even lower with the King's Fall Raid and (in my opinion) is the reason the Rise of Iron raid will be dumbed down for people and will not be *as* fun to run. Instead of requiring skill and execution (as well as light level) the RoI raid will see success more based on how high your light level is rather than light level and performance in the raid. WHY is this necessary? Are people no longer born with opposable thumbs?
Information on the new raid was taken from http://gamerant.com/destiny-rise-iron-raid-level-wrath-machine/ which is taking it from the Game Informer interview.
This is the internet so I'm sure all of you snarks will have something to say but I am not trying to be mean in any way here, I am genuinely befuddled.
-
The raid sucks.... Instead of fighting enemys it consists of puzzles
-
I think they looked at the percentage of guardians that have completed kings fall. With the numbers being low they probably thought they needed to change something. Im my opinion its a good move to make wrath of the machine alittle less technical. It could get people more involved, and probably be more fun for alot of people.
-
Because some of us have never done a raid. Before King's Fall was released I believe Bungie put out a stat saying that only around 17% of guardians had completed a raid. Okay you just answered your question. WHY is this necessary? It isn't, you just made this up. This is the internet so I'm sure all of you snarks will have something to say Then you end by insulting all of us. FU

For the same reason some players still haven't been to the lighthouse. PVE and PVP take different skill sets. In Raids the ability to shoot stuff is actually only a minor part of the required skill set. PVE and PVP require practice and experience. Many PVP players are now trying to do the KF raid for their MOT and want the PVE raiders to "carry" them. PVE raid players with little tolerance are called "elitists". Yet, PVP flawless players that don't want to carry PVE players to the lighthouse are safeguarding Trials as it is for the "best". The joys of having a PVE and PVP community in one game.

Edited by Skeaze: 8/25/2016 7:31:14 PMSome people don't work well under stress and require alternate approaches to their given objective. Don't put so much stress on them and they'll function. Edit, Destiny doesn't require skill. Just memorization.

I only just beat the damn thing a few days ago. Reasons? My usual group would do it while I was working when it first came out. If they were still on, they'd already have a full team. Also, most people have this "Gotta get it done quick" and flip their shit if there's a single wipe. My group even kinda got like this. I didn't feel like hitting up LFG, got bored, and didn't play for nine months. So yeah. Now I need to beat it on heroic. Let us see if anyone shows up Friday night. It was fun. I'm almost wondering if the challenge mode strategy of detonating all the orbs at once would be easier...
-
Because they've never done it! Every time they join, they mess up, and then there kicked... And then they go do strikes... And... And they get depressed... And they make stories of weapons... And they... They have no friends...
-
Because people usually dont raid with chill teammates The thought of doing raids in Destiny was what I initially bought destiny with the intention of doing but as I did a few of them people got so hostile over a wipe it became more of a chore....
-
Less clears than you but I am willing to sit there and explain the raid and be a sherpa to the less experienced players of Destiny. 90% of my raid clears had at least one raid virgin and I have met so many cool people along the way.
-
Exactly why my friend and I stopped raiding.
-
What's the point in mastering it? Mechanic raid, crap weapons and armor, no longer needed for light. I always find myself scratching my head and asking "why?" when someone brags about their completions. Unless you just enjoy the raid, then that's completely fine.
-
I literally tried hardmode for the first time ever last night and that was the first time I had raided since hard mode actually released. Can you blame me? Lol However I was surprised by how much I remembered, all came back to me as I was doing it but I wasn't sure if certain things were different with hardmode
-
My reason is a matter of time going to work blah blah only completed once. Family come first for me not a game, can't use a mic all the time and finding a fireteam or hooking up with clan is never suitable for a lot of the time. Result is if you have time, you gain more experience so my category is inexperienced!
-
To do King's Fall with relative consistance took practice with the mechanics since it is so demanding on mechanics. Some people don't have time to do it as much as we have so they struggle with doing their given task.
-
I did the jumps first try without advice, It isnt hard, Just unneeded waste of time, Oh you just did 5 jump puzzles, Here the final 2 bosses are jump puzzles too. They should call the raid :Dont fall. Because the entire raid is a jump puzzle.
-
Wow I could not agree more. It's just disheartening as of late. It's been out for a year!!
-
Because they probably had an improper teacher. The most recent team of newbies that I took through easily got it done. Warpriest, Golgoroth, and Desthsinger all took only a couple tries. Totems only took 1 actually. The issue is that people trying to explain will say the whole raid at once then expect people to remember everything said. It's rather sad.
-
Because everyone here is a filthy casual! You guys can't even do legacy strikes to save your lives.
-
You probably. I got lucky and match up with some pretty chill people. The first time I ever did KF I had a really awesome group who walked me through each step, didn't get frustrated when I didn't understand and were okay with it if we wiped. People who complain about beginners are the problem, you didn't know how to do it at one time, and they might still be at that point. If you don't wanna play with randoms then find a few good people to run it, or learn to communicate better.
-
Why are people still terrible at king's fall
Because it's a terrible raid
-
-
Well, I don't have a mic, and it absolutely kills me that I can't communicate with others, and even worse that these Quest icons are hovering over King's Fall. I'm on PS4, by the way. Shameless plea for help, I know. XD
-
Why are people still making new characters. What scrubs, they should be at 335 all around by now!.
-
it blows my mind.

But numbered plates make life way easier if you have an experienced 1 (which I am) who hops on plate immediately you can have the runner halfway around by the time 2 and 3 hop on you can get relic extremely fast if anything that strat takes more coordination than just running to the same plate I mean Idk of anyone else does this but I love seeing how fast we can pull relic both times once I had a buddy of mine pull at 43 and dunk on 41 As for relic running however, I have no idea how people suck, platforming is super easy
-
Because not everyone raids. It's that simple.
