They also removed Giant Sandworm creatures and the ability for your ship to travel underwater.
Sean said it himself you would've been able to battle factions and have a combat oriented starship. So no that wasn't Overhyped bullshit. It was even shown during E3 2015.

It done a Destiny!

This reminds me of Fallout 4....
Todd Howard is a liar
-
I don't know why E3 is a big backing for arguments like this. To be fair, what game developer doesn't make their game look cinematic as -blam!- just for the hour showing? It's just to get people excited, you know? Grab people's attention for X game.
-
At least Minecraft let us build stuff.
-
So now that Xbox is getting NMS, can some of you PS players tell me more about the game?
-
You should have learned from Destiny and the Division.
-
AngryJoe put it perfectly. "This is the most shameful five I've ever given." Its average-goodish, but is missing so much of what we were promised.
-
They lied about many MANY things
-
They lied.......
-
Wasted $59.99 (again)
-
portals are actually in the game. I have found two but have not yet figured out how to activate them. And once someone does that will be sick as -blam!-.

I think this game broke my Destiny addiction. It IS just a insanely massive version of minecraft really but damn, it's fun so far. About 6 hours in it so far. I haven't eve left my starting system. My biggest gripe, and it's a major problem: The map system. There should be planetary maps where you can set waypoints to everything you've discovered. I hope they include that in the upcoming ps4 patch............without killing the item dup trick! haha I love glitches, makes the game so much more fun. Since it doesn't hurt anyone else playing it then to each his own. If you like em do em, if not then don't. Simple as that.

The only thing they blatantly lied about (repeatedly) was being able to find other players in game. The assets are in the data files, but the net code isn't there (according to those on Reddit). That and the faction wars, which are still in the game, but have little to no affect on gameplay and we lost the space battles :( A lot of the features for toned down or eliminated, they never really said why, but I would hazard to guess that there were bugs or scenarios which led to game breaking problems. I wouldn't consider those lies per se as they showed pre-release footage that was subject to change and rarely did they ever tout features that were shown on screen. We will never really know of course, HG has been extremely tight lipped about any controversy surrounding the game. The only thing I was particularly disappointed by was my own assumption that there would be more interaction with the aliens/factions. All I personally wanted was a game to fill in my long vacant niche want of a new Starflight-like game. NMS fills most of that, but it lacks in certain areas. I do look forward to future DLC, especially now that they can afford to hire on additional people and maybe work out a lot of the retail version links that led to the game being simplified. I do hope they get around to fixing the balance of resources, markets and survival. So much of the game's economy feels haphazardly thrown together. Anyway, I definitely have complaints and reservations. But the game isn't bad for what it is IMHO.

He lied quite a bit as I've been reading up on. I don't normally follow games with an exception of a article or two or video. Like going in somewhat blind as an personal preference. All I knew is it was a survival game with a huge random generated worlds. Then all the post started popping and man he just lied and kept on doing it...
-
Despite it's flaws I'm really enjoying NMS. Although I'm wondering what there is to do after maxing everything out and getting platinum.
-
Edited by Bob: 8/23/2016 9:30:50 PMwell you can have a combat oriented starship...if you just build a ton and I mean a ton of beams on your ship. I have lots of fun in NMS. but I will say this, probably one of the worst game endings I have ever experienced in any game
-
Meh. I'm still having fun. To each his own.
-
..no offense but I've found a fleet with 9 ships attacking then 2 sentinels joining. Maybe we haven't discovered those events yet
-
What a flop
-
honestly, as much as I only watch some of the Angry Joe "reviews" for amusement, he was actually quite spot on with this game.
-
-
Idk the game has 18 quintillion planets maybe in some galaxys you can do that.
-
This is old news now. Still interesting, but until Hello Games comments on it, it is useless.
-
There you go. Just gaze in wonder at that laundry list, and yet dumbbells will still insist they did nothing wrong, and that players overreacted to hype. Amazing.
-
People believing what they see at E3. That's hilarious.
-
You'd think that with all the delays the game would be complete
