No Man's Sky (What do you think?)

I don't know about all of you (for those who have it on console), but I think the game is really fun. Sure, it's annoying as -blam!- to try and analyze a flock of birds, or how quickly fuel drops. But besides that, I think it's the space exploration game we all wanted as a little kid - or those of us who dreamt of being an astronaut as a kid and wanting to explore new worlds. No Man's Sky is literally for anyone who wants to play it, there's no restrictions on having to "be good" to play it. Plus, it's insanely hard to die, unless it's fall damage. But share your own opinions! I'd like to see everyone's stand point on the game!

  • I hate pirates... the only thing to kill me so far.. came close to dying in an underwater cave, 3/4 way through i was thinking, this was a terrible idea, i hope the game randomly proceeduraly generates an air pocket some time soon, and it did :) Atm it feels like a race to claim everything, i know there's mento be 18 quadtrillion planets but half the stuff i've founds already been claimed.

I really want to go back to the planet I started on, but I have no idea how to get back now. Other then being frustrated about that it's fun. Played all day yesterday.

      • I've also noticed that I'm getting mixed up between sticking to Atlas, or Polo and their friend. I'm not sure if I should find Polo, or if I should skip by it and go to the center of the universe. But I guess I'll see what happens if I do it

      • It's a lot of fun, but I'm picked on by pirates so often. I've died thrice to their attacks, and those have been my only deaths. I think it's because I keep a lot of precious cargo on me, like Atlas Stones that I have nothing to do with for now, but I assume will become important later on, after more Atlas interaction.

        • It's a very pleasant time waster. It's not the deepest or most refined game there is but it is unique and it is very fun just walking around alien planets. I have yet to find a real perfect world like the ones they showed in the trailers lol but i'm sure i'll stumble across one eventually.

          • On my 4th hyperdrive jump, 16 slot suit, 12 slot multitool, and just bought my first ship with 25 slots. Its pretty fun tbh. Yeah its a grind but it does a good job masking it behind the countless upgrades and planets and etc to find. Been getting obsessed with getting a language so I text grinded this Gek dude for an hour. Every other convo he offers a new word, and the ones in between that he usually offers fuel/isotopes which turn out to be 65x Carbon...enough to endlessly talk to him lmao

          • I wanted it sooo fucking bad. Then I realized the graphics card in my PC is too crappy, and I can't afford a good one, so now I'm disappointed AF.

            • I'm loving the planet exploration and how well they nailed the whole classic scifi feel. I've yet to find any giant creatures or warp gates yet, but I'm hoping.

            • About 3 hours in. I've visited 3 planets, there's still a hellot to understand and learn and see, but I've upgraded the multitool and the ship, now to charge the hyperdrive, I can see it will take me to another solar system by what I've read and seen. I believe so far it's a chill fun game, ideal to play a little everyday. I wish we could run faster, charge and fuel didn't end so fast and we had more inventory space right at the beginning though.

            • I really like it so far. It's certainly an acquired taste - you have to have the patience to explore countless worlds without much of a goal (except for the whole center of the universe thing). I personally love exploration in video games, and there's definitely no shortage of things to explore in No Man's Sky. My favorite part of the game so far is entering the orbit of an unexplored planet and discovering what kind of planet it is (desert, snow, jungle, rocky, etc) I've explored quite a few planets so far and all of them have been unique from one another. So overall, I really like it. All the people saying it was "disappointing" probably didn't understand what kind of game is was in the first place. If you expected nonstop action and fast-paced gameplay, then obviously you're going to be disappointed. It's an exploration game, pure and simple, love it or hate it.

            • I've been really digging into it today and yesterday. The only times I've died are in space battles. I can't really get the hang of it, but my ship isn't equipped for it either. It's actually getting a little stale already. Wildlife doesn't have much variety after the first couple of planets, and the puzzles are becoming samey. I've swum around massive, deep oceans and have yet to see any fish at all. Just the same jellyfish crab thing on every planet. Kind of bummed about that. It's fun, and a great time sink. But I don't think it does well for binge playing.

            • I think it's unique and refreshing. So far I've really enjoyed it. I wasn't looking for it to be a long term game to play, I was looking for an experience and it has certainly delivered that. Most of my destiny clan has been playing it and it has been an excellent change of pace. Surprisingly I would already consider it one of the best buys I've made in recent years. The mix of awe and wonder that I experienced in the first few hours was magical. Worth buying it just for that.
