The Ultimate Crota's End Solo Guide.

Hey guys, first time posting (I think) here on the Bungie forums. A week ago I wrote a detailed and current Crota's End solo guide over on the Destiny subreddit at www.reddit.com, and thought it might help more people if I post it here as well. I wanted to post it here in detail, but unfortunately it seems Bungie's forums don't allow such long posts and I don't want to split it into two parts. So if you're interested in soloing Crota, head on over to the reddit post ( here is the link again ). The guide shows different strategies (legit and cheese ones) on every class, and with many different loadouts. There are almost 50 videos linked, the majority are annotated in detail with exact steps, which should make them easy to replicate. You won't need a reddit account to view it, however you will need one if you want to comment. I can't promise to answer questions here - the best way to reach me about this guide is to just comment on the reddit thread. I'll do my best to answer specific questions you may have there, but please try not to ask things already in the videos or the guide itself. edit: The goal of the guide is not to speedrun, but to help those new to soloing Crota's End. I've purposefully steered away from "pro" tactics (e.g. 1swording Crota) and given many alternatives to help those who may find a particular method difficult to do, prefer a particular class or don't have a certain weapon. Where possible, I've recommended the "safe and easy but slower" methods vs the "fast and difficult" ones. Hope this helps some of you out, and good luck with soloing Crota's End!

Finally completed it solo today! The guide was a huge help. I got to Crota last week, could damage him, but always screwed up somehow. I took a break from it a few days, came back today and got it on my second attempt. I used fusion grenades to take his shield down, Red Death and Apotheosis Veil for health regeneration. My main problems were 1- getting the fusion grenades high enough on his body for two to take the shield down. If one or both are low, it doesn't do it. 2- timing jumping away - with warlock glide, if I didn't time it right, I am a little slow getting to him and sometimes get killed jumping away from my second slam. If a ham and egger like me can do it, most people can. Thanks very much!

  • After a few hours I got my solo flawless last night. This give was invaluable. My strategy used pretty much all exotics to make it simpler. I couldn't get lamp 2 cheese to work every time so used the don't touch me run on my blade dancer. Super easy to do. Bones of Eeo on the bridge from the right rock. It flicked one time and initiated totems so I had to start again. Thrall Hallway was simple with don't touch me and sleeper. Ir Yut constantly caused me issues by moving even with no aggro on her. In the end I used the grenade cheese followed by sleeper on the shriekers (go left first) . I then killed all the Knights on the right. Then used celestial nighthawk golden gun on her before the timer appeared. Found this much easier. For Crota I used the standard method shown for golden gun nighthawk strat. Pretty simple if not nerve wracking on the final sword segment. Thankyou very much for the guide!

    • This is a great guide and really comprehensive. I've been trying for a while to do a solo Crota run but no online source had enough detail on techniques to use for which class. Last night I got as far as Ir Yut solo with my hunter. Ran out of time but using a mix of golden gun and sleeper I think I can manage it, then just the big fella himself. I think I should be able to do a solo flawless run if I can master the second lamp cheese and the Thrall hallway without dying Thanks for a brilliant guide!

Thanks for posting. Using this guide, I soloed through deathsinger last night. I was going to try Crota, but it was late. I have soloed the abyss with my hunter several times before, but I used my warlock this time. I haven't soloed the rest before. The guide makes it mostly easy, though the bridge jump is still tricky for me. I made it the first time, then missed it 10 times in a row before making it again. I wasn't wearing Crota boots, but did have focused burst and high agility. Any more tips on the bridge jump? I am a warlock using focused burst, jumping from the column on the right. Sometimes I make the jump but most of the time I bounce off the edge. I suspect I am turning at the wrong time or start swinging too early/too late.

      • Got my first NM and HM solo thanx to this guide 😀. I must say I found it easier with a hunter than i am with warlock, the focus burst is messing me up every time

      • I'm a year one vet but I have a confession. I never did crota on normal in year one. I also never did the bridge, thrallway or deathsinger. I only wanted the crux and Warlock helmet (even though it's not my main) so I only ever did HM from crota CP. So I decided to solo it a couple of weeks ago in its entirety. Wow that was fun. I bet it was challenging without 335 though lol. Now my goal is to get flawless raider solo. This raid is actually fun. I'd like to see year one raids become relevant again.

      • Great post, OP! Came home tonight and relatively easily knocked out each encounter up to Crota on my Hunter. Crota may take a bit of practice for me. Keep getting too low on health before killing the sword bearer.

        • I did this solo with all 3 characters. Took me about 45 min each. The bridge was not difficult since I did not jump but I built the bridge from the middle platform. After that it was a piece of cake with my solar sword. Anybody need help I'm willing to run with you and helping you along the way in PS4 just send me a message.

            • Nearly solo'd last night. (A friend joined at Crota) Your tips are spot on, Thanks. The toughest part for me was swording across the bridge, I could never stick the landing on the rocks.
