I understand specific subclass perks and melee abilities but that should require a melee charge. The base range is kind of ridiculous for warlocks. With no melee charge, just raw 122 damage, a hunter shouldn't be losing to a warlock just as weak as him because he can't fully extend his arm for some dumb reason. It's almost like giving a class the ability to throw a grenade farther just because. Not to mention that due to the added range, it's a lot easier for a warlock to abuse the way a melee auto locks on enemies. I notice sometimes that a warlock will just spam the melee in a close quarter engagement when he can't find his enemy. It's sad because it actually works sometimes.
