Buff Swords for PVP

Swords are and have been outclassed by almost everything else in the game. Most of the time when you try to use them you can't even get close enough to attack due to the neglect to factor in how other guardians aren't as stupid as PVE enemies that just love to run towards us. They back up and shoot you - and if they just happen to have anything with a damage type other than just kinetic you're screwed. If anything should be done, for PvP the amount of energy lost by shielding from any special or heavy needs to be decreased and the slashing speed needs to be faster - to counteract that there can be a split second delay between each strike. If not that then at least give players a speed boost whenever they use the guard function so you can possibly have a better chance at getting close enough at all. I mean lets be honest, how many kills, if any, do you get on average before you run out of energy with those things, besides Bolt-Caster?

  • So what you want is a heavy weapon that drops with 30 kills in the mag with absolutely no drawbacks? Kinda sounds OP to me.

    • Swords really do feel like an "Experiment" considering every sword (Save for Dreadfang) has the exact same stats. If anything they probably added them in to get an idea of how a melee weapon would work. PvP was possibly the last thing they thought about as well - Swords are not projectile based (inb4 Bolt Caster) and even the Blocking mechanic feels weird. Hopefully in RoI we will see a broader selection of Swords (Rare/Legendary) with more emphasis on speed and protection.

    • their is a MAJOR bug in the game were the form will not track my sword kills, I am missing 8783 kills from my data base and I want somthing done about this please.

      • I think the block needs to be a little better. Rockets will kill you every other time you try to block them and you can't block a rocket in mid air. I would love to have a shield for a heavy weapon, so you can basically negate heavy fights.
