A Guardian In The Stars

Let's see, I've bypassed channels 3 and 4, and rerouted 2 back into itself, so why isn't this working? I put down my soldering tool, and punched down at the dusty surface of the Moon. "You've been at this far too long, I don't think it's possible" "You've been at this far too long," I repeated back to my Ghost in a mocking voice, "how about you spend less time doubting me, and more time processing a solution?" I picked back up my tools, and continued my work. "No need to get snippy with me." "Okay, little light." "Please don't." "Little light. Little light. Little light." I taunted back at him as I fiddled with my soldering gun. "Are you done now; got it all out of your system?" "Yeah, and don't trouble your little self any longer because I just got this figured out." With one final connection, I soldered in the last wire into place, and shut the protective casing on my compact flight unit. "Let's see if it works," I fastened the flight unit back into my suit, and all systems showed online. "You know," my Ghost chimed in once more, "there's a reason why the Vanguard custom makes the compact flight units to have similar gravitational forces to that of Earth right?" "Man, you're so boring! Just shut your pie-hole; capiche?" I stuck my hand out towards the Ghost with my fingers and thumb together as if to sign to him to be quiet. I lowered my hand, and the Ghost spun it's back end as if greatly annoyed, but I didn't pay any mind as I was about to break the limits set for every Guardian. I jumped up activating my flight unit, and flew up about twice the hight as normal before cutting the power and drifting back down. "Woohoo! Did you see that? In your face Ghost!" The Ghost made a few chattering noises as it processed, but stayed behind near the bland grey surface of the Moon. I landed, and pushed off again to go even higher. "Ha-ha, and who's to say Warlocks can't jump? This is amazing!" I landed once more, my boots grinding in the dusty gravel beneath my feet, and my head swimming in the stars. "So where to next?" My Ghost asked as he flew up beside me. "Let's head to the Dreadnaught; there's some things I want to get to in that crazy ship; you in?" "Of course," my Ghost paused making some chattering noises before continuing, "and sorry for doubting you too." "No problem; just know that you were wrong, and I'm awesome." I gestured at myself with both thumbs, and smiled at him from inside my helmet. "Let's go!" The ground quivered as my ship flew in close, and as I took the controls in the cockpit I couldn't help but feel the idea that some secrets in the Dreadnaught are better off left untouched. - To read my next entry: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/207925406 To read my previous entry: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/207737736?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=1
