I picked that concept art for a reason. When I look at it I see a fireteam that either about to destroy the Cabal or is in dire need.
What I'd like one day is to be able to work for the Vanguard as the Vanguard. Not Strikes or missions or Raids, but I want to be able to go out into the field and protect humanity. I want to escort civilians out of the Frontier. I want to help the FotC defend the City. I want to go out there into the Wild and rescue Guardians in need.
Imagine this: When you (and your fireteam) are getting beaten down in a boss encounter or public event or maybe just a huge fight, the Vanguard gets pinged from your Ghost that you need help. Naturally, the Vanguard send in one (or more) of their best to help with the situation. This would be a great way for new, weaker, or lone wolf Guardians to get a chance to fight alongside those who not only know the ropes, but wove them.
Of course, this wouldn't just be limited to lower Light/level Guardians, but anyone who needs help. This isn't "feedback" so I decided not to put it into the Feedback section. It's just something I think would be cool. What about all of you? Would you be into something like this? Would you want to fly out into the solar system to help a Guardian in need in a future title?

Edited by BeardedLuck0809: 7/27/2016 8:09:15 PMThis is a phenomenal idea! I would really enjoy seeing something like this in a future title or current. The game, as it plays out now, gives more of a mercenary feel to your Guardian. You were resurrected after years and thrown into a cosmic war that literally spans the Galaxy. Unfortunately your time is spent running "go here and shoot this person in the face repeatedly until he falls over then come back to the tower for your cookie" missions. I know of quite a few people that would be on board with this as well. So, in conclusion, I vote yes to this and hope to see it in the future.

Whatever happened to your mentor status? Did you quit grinding on the forums?

Love this concept...
Why no longer Moderator?
Weren't you a mentor?

Omnigul likes this idea

The coding that will need to be done for the game to notify if you are in trouble, then match make a player into your game especially if you're a max Fireteam. And even when I was new I never needed this, how often do taken tots need their hands held?

Fun fact, that's valus Ta'aurc in the picture.

I want to run my Titan, distract Zavala, yell RUN CAYDE, run my hunter, and have the best patrol day ever

The vanguard are the most powerful ad respected among their class. We would not be vanguard, as they're already selected. We do work for the vanguard in PvE activities.

If I view the picture it crashes the app on my phone. What is it? Also, good idea. I like it.

It would be cool if we somehow were able to go back and fight the battle of twilight gap.

As long as my female human Hunter can say, "Cheers love! The calvary is here!" I'm with this.

Oh hell yeah!

This sounds amazing

Exactly

Yeah why not would liven up some bounty grinding

Love the idea. Also wanted to say how awesome it is to still see you on the forums. I remember seeing your stuff during the beta. Way before you were a mentor too
-
I would absolutely love this. It'd be a great feeling to be on-call for emergencies and be able to actually hot-drop into a combat area and pull someone's ass out of the fire, then shoot them a salute as your ship swoops around and transmats you off to your next rescue drop.
-
I absolutely adore ideas like these, but i have a doubt that it would become reality.

This must be seen

That sounds amazing. ~BlueRaven7

I've always thought that when the Cabal are inevitably featured in a DLC/Expansion, rather than a standard raid, a massive war would be more fitting to the tactical, efficient war machine of the Cabal. Maybe a team of 12? Let's say you have an area where a team of 3-4 guardians must hold off a Cabal assault on your base (think similar to VoG confluxes) while another unit attempts to take down an extremely powerful high value target before reinforcements are called in. The last members of your fireteam could roam the map, playing medic, repairing damage to the afforementioned base, etc. Objectives could pop up periodically, which may force you to, for example, pull your defender titan off base defence while he swaps places with a rover member, (teamwork being a key factor in success during these battles.) The examples I've mentioned above are just that, but hopefully can give you the picture of what I'm trying to envision. Failure could be handled differently also. Let's say tue Cabal destroyed your base. Carry on, guardian, the battle isn't over yet.... But you'll have to try again if you wanted that 'raid gear' drop that was tied to this objective. Hopefully, this would end up solving two problems: The problem of random fireteams bering stuck for hours in a raid that would take a more efficient team an hour or less. And hopefully more talented players would be willing to take on a lesser skilled teammate or two knowing that the problem I just stated won't exist. I think this could be a great starting point to a fresh type multiplayer end game activity, what do you think?
