In the months to come, your quest to become more powerful will have more avenues that lead to satisfaction. The last thing we wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete.
Your feedback is clear: The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected.

-Deej, December 4, 2014
Well, Deej, 19 months later, our rewards aren't satisfying enough compared to Year 1 due to the insane grind with different modifiers in pve, our year 1 gear was made obselete due to Luke Smith (Thank you Chris Barret for bringing Year 2 Gear to Year 3), and our stuff that we invested in Destiny *cough* Trials of Osiris for weeks to get a Doctrine of Passing *cough* always gets nerfed. Is this what you wanted?
Here is an example:

Other Guardians are Agreeing with this as well:
SunuvaMitch:
What's truly saddening is that there are weapons now that I could EASILY see myself using in this game for the 10 years they plan to keep up and running and I'll likely never have a chance to do so. Can you imagine ...
"That's my good old Fatebringer and Vex Mythoclast. They've been with me through the test of time. I've had them since the beginning of this journey called Destiny."
We'll never get to make those statements because Bungie will always obsolesce what we love.
Agent Fawk:
Let us infuse our year 1 gear to year 2 at least!
C'mon Bungie. Do the right thing. It's only fair considering year 2 gear will be infused to year 3.
My request is more than reasonable. I'm not asking for y1 guns to be infused to the RoI or y3 LL. All I'm asking is that we be able to infuse all our y1 gear in our vaults to the TTK LL. This would make us legacy players, and most players in general, very happy and more apt to purchase Destiny when upgrading to the next gen consoles. Not to mention, I would immediately start playing again.
If you continue to leave our y1 gear, you'll never see me or my wallet again once RoI is out. I'll delete the app shortly thereafter.
Other guardians, say what you want about me leaving. I know you don't care. I'm not offended. And, I'm not one for ultimatums unless I really mean it.

IDONTMAKESENS:
I didn't play year 1. I don't have really any of the year 1 stuff. Buttttt..... it's only fair those who did should get their year 1 gear updated to be your current light level, or at least possibly infused to upper light.
Then the chance to drop for everyone else with the same or similarly smaller effort you put into getting it. You shouldn't have to grind for it again, unless you got rid of it, because that makes it too complicated. But I might not be making any sense
Lonestar again:
I really like this quote from Deej, written about 1/3rd the way down in the link I'll provide below.
Let me get this straight. The player is never “wrong.” I believe that down to my bones. At Bungie, I represent to the developers what you say without prejudice. Lesson learned: Never Tweet when you’re in a hurry.
https://www.bungie.net/en/News/Article/12447
If we're never wrong, then why won't they listen to us when we tell them to reverse nerfs and stop nerfing? Why is Luke Smith's decision on elemental primaries substituted for our own? Why was Y1 gear left behind, when all who were there in Y1 want it to be upgraded WITHOUT having to re-grind for it? So many issues that there is a fairly large consensus on (with regards to the player base)- and yet, they don't even acknowledge us most of the time. They just substitute their judgment for our own.
N7riseSSJ:
I recall once a quote from Luke Smith(?) saying something along the lines of wanting people to see guns others were using and being like "hey that's a cool gun, where can I get that?"
So what happened to that, Bungie? All I see are guns from the Raid, which most are incredibly horrible and all look just as bad, exotics which most people can obtain pretty easily with 3oC, and guns from the Strikes and a crucible which are subject to a punishing RNG (along with some of that gear).
At least in year one, there were guns that were highly sought after. I really don't know what happened. Everything just became worthless. Most guns I'm just like meh whatever.
Once again, you need to expand on your game. You don't have enough content to be RNGing things into the ground, microtransactioning things, or removing anything.
A quote from Bassmagnum from my other post:
They need to do something. The only way I'm going to get the next chapter is if they comp it. I feel they owe us that much at least. And for the record I've never complained about anything regarding this game other than it's connectivity issues. The phone number for bungie is 425-440-6800. Time for everyone to flood their office with complaint calls until they do something about the problem or change the number
Edit 3: apparently on Twitter, Cozmo is on vacation and Deej for some reason won't reply anymore to anyone.

Edited by tavenclint: 7/18/2016 4:56:57 AMCome to think of it, they are giving themselves more work to do now, but if year 1 through 10 weapons are still relevant just by using infusion will mean less work. Fyi, Some faction weapons cannot be gotten back again even Crucible weapons are lost. I deleted all mine back then because of vault space.

Throwing money at the screen does not fix this game!

LOL...bungie still has their heads buried in the sand. https://www.tnooz.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/head-in-sand.jpg

DeeJ should do stand-up comedy.
-
So how does your idea keep from pissing off the loads of people who deleted their Y1 gear? At this point this is what you need to consider. You're begging for something to be "fixed", but in doing so creates another huge problem, which leads to more angst. With RoI coming shortly and D2 around the corner, just let it go already.
-
-
The gear from the raids and the exotics left in year one should be brought back, regardless of if itll fit or not
-
-
Now what about all of the people that deleted their y1 gear due to lack of space? We were told that year 1 was going away so why keep it? They would turn a negative choice into another negative choice for a lot of people unless they brought back all of the old vendor gear on pages or something. Now that's an idea I could get behind.

Fatebringer was killed because Luke Smith wanted more diversity in the game. Luke Smith killed off elemental primaries because everyone that got fb used it all the time. This is flawed logic, yes the data showed that out of the playtime with y1 weopons fb was played with the most. So that killed elemental primaries. How can you not look at the data better? Fb was played because it was a beast of a handcannon all on it's own. Comparing stat for stat, it was the best hc in y1. Plus raid perks were set in stone unlike the rng you deal with on a day to day basis. Everyone knew when fb dropped they knew exactly what roll it was going to have. It could with it's perk tree and core stats alone outperform all other hc's in y1. That is why it was so popular. Natually when a player finds a good weapon they use it. So enough people get the same weapon and it shows up more and more. It was a beast all by intself... It just happened to have an element tied to it. This was why elemental primaries were killed because people like LS don't understand their own data. Morons, you don't react to the trends and change things and react to them again. You have to figure out why they are trending in the first place.... Crucible for example, has no elemental burns there. So it didn't matter if you had fatebringer, word of crota, or any other elemental primary from y1. So why did people still play with fb if the burn wasn't there? It certainly cannot be because of the arc buff. So why still use it? Like I said before it was a beast of a handcannon all by itself. It was still powerful without its arc. If anything crucuble proves that. That beast just so happen to have an arc component tied to it. Luke Smith killed elemental primaries because he doesn't dig into the data. Figuring out why the numbers show what they show instead they go around nerfing things out of reaction. Smith needs to tell everyone to stop being reactive and be proactive. Instead of nerfing the piss out of everything whenever something becomes popular, buff something that is lacking until it's on par. Don't bring everything down, build them up.
