Matchmaking Fail

So I recently decided to take a break from IB to do some daily rift because I normally enjoy the game regardless of whether I win or lose, but then something odd happened. The game started with only eight people in the lobby. Now normally you would expect matchmaking to set up a 4v4. Nope. Despite the lobby being completely full of randoms and one fire team of 3 (enemy team) the game starts us off with a 5v3. So naturally what do I do? Try to see if I can carry my team like I usually don't and get completely wrecked. I mean wth Bungo? Normally in any other 6v6 playlist this would be barely acceptable because the game drags on long enough for others to join in and a counter push/comeback to be made. That is not the case in rift though, where having more players can be a huge advantage and only 3 caps are needed to mercy rule. In rift this should not be a thing! I decided to stick around in this match to see how bad it would be. This game didn't even last 4 minutes. Long enough for new players to join and then die and then leave. Honestly Bungo, what did your skill based matchmaking settings expect there? For my team to all become red bar gods and then destroy Atheon, and Crota himself during that match of rift? I would have recorded it but I didn't think of that the time, though I know Bungie can go back and verify what I am saying. Feel free to look at my profile. I am by no means a terrible player, but what does anyone expect to happen in this situation. Also before anyone says 1) I need to "git gud" and 2) that they would have been fine in that sort of setup, I would like to say 1) get a new insult and 2) to post footage that you could. This post is about Bungie's matchmaking settings not about my or anyone else's skill level. The game I am referring to is a match of rift on Pantheon that I played at 11:36AM central time. tl;dr: Matchmade into a 5v3 rift game and got destroyed. This shouldn't happen in rift. Bungie needs to nerf fusion rifle damage 0.04%.
