Okay, so unless I'm having a brain fart, how is Gjally going to get worked into Rise of Iron if it already existed as an exotic from Year 1 and only now we're going to go through a story related to Felwinter and the Iron Lords? Anyone know? Is time travel now a thing? Are we meant to forget about Year 1 Gjallly? WTAF. Say it'll only be a legendary weapon, at what point would it become exotic? Such question. Many lore. Very rockets. Wow.

Isnt this the original quest cut from vanilla destiny.

Probably kind of like how they worked in the chaperone and the prison of elder exotics
-
The bigger question is why get excited about a weapon that was made irrelevant. Unless they are buffing launchers in general

Wow read the lore and watch the reveal The new gally isn't the same According to the reveal we make our gally though a quest The lore gally is made of fallen guardians from Twilight Gap Thats how the gally fits in Rise of Iron Those fallen guardians could been the lords Siva is under the Twilight gap or near it

There's a quest in the rise of iron to get it. The only details we have on that quest are that we'll be collecting armor from dead guardians to make it, likely in the same way it was originally built.
if you pre ordered rise of iron, expect an iron (black) gjallarhorn instead of a gold and white one.
Ok I am going to create a quick story but imagine all thr ghorns have been lost or have vanished. The ghorn was made of guardian armour. Now we need the power. We rise and take the pieces from fallen warriors. We rise and create a weapon that makes Oryx stagger in one blow. It is the new ghorn. :)

Bungie doesn't have time to explain why they don't have time to explain. I don't see it as the beginning of the Gjallarhorn but the next step in it's future.
