After researching stats / testing out PVP on a new account, simply turning SBMM off isn't the answer. Far more people will be hurt by the change than we think. I'm not saying every gaming being ultra competitive is right either.... but we need to look a the greater good instead of what is best for the top players.

They should use the Truth on sbmm
-
2 RepliesLowkey, Bungie probably paid him to make this video defending SBMM.
-
1 ReplySbmm is the greater good lol what! Sbmm is ruining this game
-
1 ReplyI hope you lose all your viewers and have to close your channel for this obvious Bungie marketing you are doing here. Hope all this hate was worth whatever they promised or paid you.

You don't have the answers Mtashed

Well stated. I could have guessed all of those Stat changes but it was nice to see someone else confirm my assumptions

45 RepliesEdited by sdfgtty67: 5/26/2016 12:29:22 AMDown vote this awful shill of a thread. Mtash, you should be ashamed you sellout. You're trash at PvP too. There is a reason why you and your clan don't sweat or compete in tournaments Fyi. Don't you dare speak on behalf of the community. Shill.

Edited by Shagryn: 5/27/2016 4:22:29 AMIt's not going to hurt the majority of destiny. You're trying to shove a top 5 percenters opinion down our throat. CoD has thrived forever with CBMM. It's not a new concept.
-
10 RepliesNot once did you mention the lag associated with sbmm in the .9+KD ranges.
-
16 RepliesAnyone defending SBMM is either delusional or hasn't even played in year one to have a valid reference point when trying to compare it with CBMM. People have quit this game over the past few months because they're sick and tired of having to use the same competitive guns over and over and over again just because they don't have a chance to mess around and try other ones. Using the same load-outs 24/7 results in extreme boredom after a few hrs of playing. However, in the past when there was CBMM, one had the opportunity to use any gun they pleased and still be able to win some games, which meant you could have fun over a longer period of time. To those defending SBMM... if you thought PVP was laggy when Bungie was actually trying to make the connection better (CBMM), imagine how garbage it's gonna be when they don't give a -blam!- about it (now).

53 RepliesVast majority of gamers are against sbmm, not just the top players. I am a little better than average at pvp, I hate sbmm. I'd love to play with my son and can't, he gets killed. I bought him his own ps4 so we could play, but it's not fun for him going 4-20, after going 20-8, when playing alone. It's not about padding stats, it's a fn video game, it's meant to be fun. I surf, when I was younger I entered competitions, they were exciting, but some times you just want to have fun, surf, and hang with friends. Sbmm doesn't allow for that. Destiny is not meant to be pro level competition pvp, and that's where sbmm may have it's place. What I know is sbmm has ruined games in the past. It is not viewed in a positive way, by the gaming community. There is a reason they snuck it in and lied about it. It's a huge part of why they lost most of their player base and got desperate enough to drop a patch handing everyone 335. It also played a part in getting the ceo fired, which happened when everyone quit playing. They even came out and confessed to adding sbmm and said sorry and said they'd actually communicate in the future. They have slowly been removing pieces of it ever since, but removing parts wont work. It just needs to be removed completely. In a game with p2p servers, that is not meant to be competitive, sbmm has no place. All it does is make a few guys feel better about themselves and think they are better at pvp, than they really are. I and all the year one players learned and improved with cbmm. Yes, I took some beatings, but I won too and always got my bounties done. Most players consider year one crucible, when it was good/fun. We get better, in all things in life, by facing bigger and better things/competition. We don't improve playing one level of competition. We get better when that amazing player/athlete gives us a beat down and then we add what we saw to our practice/game.

1 ReplyMan you done -blam!-ed up Sbmm is trash, anyone from year 1 knows it, if bungie needed it so bad and the community needed it so bad why didn't destiny launch with it? To bring a huge fan base because it was fun, now however, bungie has their cash in hand and they wanna try and make this a "competitive" game, which honestly is destroying the game, and rapidly I don't play games in which my deaths are unexplainable or inconsistent So go ahead mtashed, gobble that bungie cock some more, how much are they paying you?

44 RepliesEdited by Zoey: 5/25/2016 1:01:29 PMNope sorry, SBMM is terrible. Not once did you mention the lag or fireteam searches, your only argument was "the lower skilled players matter too" (and yes, I heard your stance on Social/Ranked, but we're focusing on right now), and all of your tests were done solo dropping into games. Good players are good for a reason, they practice, they put time in to improve, and punishing them with a system like the one that is currently in place is a terrible move. Look back to House of Wolves when Crucible was FUN, not necessarily balanced, but FUN, and when SBMM was lax af. No-one complained about lag. No-one complained about getting stomped. I remember FOUR distinct complaint posts on the forum -Shot Package -Hidden Hand -Thorn -TLW [Edit: 5- Final Round] And that was it. No 'bring in SBMM' or 'Bungie make the game easier for me', it was primarily those four topics. And yet Bungie straight up lied to us for four months before saying 'oh right yeah, we added SBMM when TTK dropped'. NO-ONE ASKED FOR IT. You say 'the lower skilled players will quit because they're getting constantly stomped', so tell me, what is the chance for those players to match... Let's say any of the top 5% players in Crucible? Oh right exactly that, 5%. 5 out of 100 games they will get absolute decimated, but that's a tiny amount of time. That's what, average 50 minutes? Out of an average 1000 total minutes of Crucible time for those 100 games at 10 minutes a piece? Yeah, no, they won't quit. Also, CoD does absolutely fine without SBMM, in fact they tried it, and the community were in such an uproar about how bad it was, they reverted it within TWENTY FOUR HOURS. In a system like this, lower skilled players don't massively improve anyway, it might seem like they do, but if you're making the same mistakes you were making when playing higher leveled players, except SUCCEEDING while doing them, you're going to get conditioned to do them more often because of that gunfight you just won, while flying about for a minute straight since your opponent was too stupid to point upwards and pull the trigger. You don't face players who actually know what they are doing, so you don't learn or adapt to their strategies, you just stay in freaking candy land with all the other players who apparently need coddled because "wahh I don't want to play good players or improve". This system doesn't even encourage you to improve because if you do then you're going to be in the same position as all the other players who have to sweat in red-bar lobbies every game, and hey guess what, no-one finds it fun to play sweaty as shit under 200ms ping every damn game. Earlier this week in doubles, I got matched against the same duo fireteam THREE GAMES IN A ROW EVEN AFTER BACKING OUT AFTER EACH GAME. We were all greenbar for maybe 25% of each game. That is unacceptable in this era of technology. I'm not saying I want to get matched up against .4kds every game, I just don't want to have to play under these shitty conditions every game, especially with the abysmal kill times this game has been reduced to. It's not fun to play with/as red bars, it's not fun to sweat continuously, and it's not fun to have to take over a second to kill someone. Look, I'm all for SOME form of SBMM in Destiny before someone calls me out for wanting to pubstomp every game. I have 876 hours in Rocket League and compete at the same rank as the best of the best, I even matched with someone from the #1 team in EU. But this SBMM that we have in Destiny now? The shitty, lag-filled, slow, boring Crucible we have now? Nuh-uh. Edit: Gotta love when people downvote all your posts out of spite without even trying to argue ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Tbh..... At the end of the day it all comes down to the end users connection... And alot of users sit on poor latency, ping, DL/UL, router situated, bandwidth, Wi-Fi/wired issues.... I'm 50mb down 3mb up, 12 ping, 3ft away from Wi-Fi on 5gh frequency. Also tweaked my router to spread the load should the family decided to go ape with device connections. Virginmedia UK. And I have no issues whatsoever.

Edited by Myth: 5/26/2016 5:43:10 AMStep 1) 100 percent CBMM Step 2) Of those 12 players picked by CBMM, matchmaking should organise the 6v6 teams as evenly as possible determined by skill. Fixed.

A potential solution here https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/205123163/0/0

10 RepliesI replied to mtashs's post defending SBMM. Owned him so hard with this post he couldn't even respond: "You didn't address the lag once in your video. SBMM breaks the dwindling player base into even smaller chunks, causing latency as we have to go further to find opponents. Nor did you mention the awful things that happen when a skilled player plays with unskilled friends. The most skilled players ELO is taken into consideration so the unslilled friends get crushed. You only looked at the issue from the perspective of someone who only solo drops 100% of the time. Sorry mtashed. You need to open your eyes. Your research is flawed. Maybe this is why you have 0 likes on this forums post." #rekt

5 RepliesThe amount of pu$$ies re-rolling their toons to go stomp noobs in pvp is ridiculous. Can't count the amount of ADHD kids out there raging because of SBMM. So what do they do? They delete their character. Start over with a fresh KD roll. Then head right into the crucible to stomp the new guys that just got the game or are trying pvp for the first time. You sh!t heads are ruining pvp for a whole new wave of players and you don't care. You only care about your sh!t KD. You're all pu$$ies. Go play against the tryhards with the same KD.

SBMM stinks! #My2Cents

Lol pvp

Lol i run into like 1 mild lagger per 5 matches I play. I have never understood your struggle.

-blam!-ing stupid. I'm sick of half of these -blam!-ers on the other team lagging all over the cock sucking place... -blam!-ing sick of it!!!

3 RepliesWhats SBMM?
-
4 RepliesMatches being too competitive and sweaty isn't the only issue. Fact is Destiny PvP was laggy as hell before SBMM was even implemented. Adding SBMM on top of the current state of the crucible is like pouring gasoline over an already large fire. You can make arguments for sbmm after they implement dedicated servers. Till that day comes, matchmaking should remain connection based. I shouldn't be forced to face lagging red bars just so some other player can improve his game. You improve by dedicating hours into the game, punishing those who already have, just so the ones who haven't can improve is stupid. This isn't even about who plays good and who gets destroyed, it's about the experience as a whole. I and I'm sure many others would rather lose while having my shots register and ever gunfight feel fair than destroy the other team while every kill is delayed and everyone is teleporting everywhere.

7 RepliesIt honestly ruins the fun, look at all the people complaining. How much people improve or do better, it still makes people want to sell their discs and move over to overwatch(which you can actually mess around on and have fun on).
