How does a Guardian find a magical bone encrusted sniper rifle in the wild? Because "video game," I know, but it doesn't fit the fiction. Guardians venture beyond the city and return with spoils and trophies from their travels. They wouldn't find usable gear and weapons unless stripped from enemies or fallen Guardians, but they would, however, craft weapons and armor using their spoils of war. In Destiny 2 and beyond, I don't want to find a magical bone encrusted sniper rifle in a treasure chest. I want to take the bones, technology, weapons, and armor of my enemies and craft that gun, myself. I want to take that weapon to the gunsmith and provide the glimmer and parts required to make modifications to customize perks and add elemental damage, perhaps using rare items purchased from Xür. I want to go on quests to find exotic guns and armor of legend. Perhaps some quests that allow me to craft an exotic gun, myself, not unlike the Touch of Malice quest line. Give us crafting in the future of the franchise. Give us the tools to truly customize our style of play and give us incentive to explore every location time and time again to loot the materials we need to get there.
