Secret Vents Rasputin

I've always been curious about the vents all throughout the Rasputin on Earth. You guys ever see these? There are 5 I think, all with interiors on the other side, rooms. You can see most during the Saber strike. They lead to other rooms, u can see them when u peek through the vents. The framing for the vents is the same as the Sleeper. So strange.. Side Note: Rasputin has that weird music associated with him. You know the sound you hear when u play that DB mission with Rasputin. When the doors open it plays his tune. Well the one on Mars has a similar tone but it's played with a different instrument. Next time u play Dust Palace and u get to the first room with door u have to unlock, give it a listen. Pretty odd I'm sure a lot of u guys know of these things but let's finally figure out what's behind those vents for once and for all!

  • I discovered that the first room of the SABRE strike, when the cooling vent is exposed and you have to throw nades in there, if your fireteam instead rockets the -blam!- out of it, the room shakes like a major earthquake, rubble falls from the ceiling and Rasputin says nothing as opposed to his pissed off speech.

I noticed in siege of the War mind, when you kill all of the thralls and acolytes from the staircase before the first omnigul encounter, you go passed the stairs and down a little hallway, when you reach the end, you see a doorway sealed off, and on top is a symbol with the sleeper simulant(the ricochet sign I think, kinda looks like a daimond. I was in there trying all different things, but could figure anything out.

The tune associated with him is played in the Dust Palace because the Dust Palace is also linked with Rasputin somehow, according to the one story mission. In the Dust Palace Strike, it's Rasputin who is trying to keep the Psion Flayers out of the Cortex, as revealed in when the Strike is about to start "...if those Flayers are tangoing with Rasputin, they may be way more powerful than we realized..."

              • The weird music is most of the time from Tchaikovsky, a Russian composer who is famous for many famous songs, and the one during the S.A.B.E.R strike is considered to be somewhat of a suicide note, as he tended to express his feelings through music.

                  • Back when you could (more easily) glitch under the map in the grottos, I explored all of Rasputin's bunker from the outside. I went in via patrol, a couple of missions, and the saber strike to see if different parts loaded. The vents you're talking about have short tunnels behind them for aesthetics. Most lead nowhere. Two connect to a small room with nothing in it. What you see behind them is just bungie being thorough with their map design, and currently lead no where relevant. The one exception is one of the vents near the end of the saber strike that has a dead ghost behind it. This vent is breakable and the ghost widely known.
