Strength of the Pack Ch. 20 pt. 2: Eye of the Storm
This chapter contains characters from FJFSOM656's, A Titan Story. These characters are strictly FJFSOM656's.
"Captain, we got starfighters inbound!" Yelled James. Blake looked up as ships hovered next to the Dreadnought. James patted Josiah's shoulder. "We're getting your team out of here..." Dakota looked to the conscious members. "This is for you! The Reef is awaiting of your arrival." Blake helped the rest of the team get on their ships. Charles teleported Josiah to his ship. Blake stepped back to watch. He looked to Dakota. "Sir, I think I'll sit this one out. These guys are going to need a medic." "Granted. While at the Reef, try to contact the Vanguard." Dakota waved his hand signaling him to go. I sat down and thought for a second. "I get it. Tae Ken was merciless, could've killed any of them! Why hasn't Phantom killed us?" "What was that?" Asked James. "Phantom. Why hasn't he killed us?" I asked again. "I guess it goes to the random 'selection process' Oryx has. Some Taken do this, others do that." "Phantom is forming an army for his King. And he sees the values of Taking guardians. He doesn't want us dead, he wants us to join him." Dakota walked over to us. "Haha! Yeah, that'll happen." Laughed James. "We came here for a reason, let's get it over with." Said Dakota as he began to walk into the shell of the Dreadnought. "I thought our goal was rescuing Morin?" Asked Colt. "What?! I needed no 'rescue'! I came here to avenge my Queen. Wether that be my downfall or not." Snapped Morin. "Well, we didn't know that! You just abandoned the team." Dakota turned around and walked toward Morin. "Now... We can go avenge the Queen." "What is our plan, Cap?" Asked James. "Eris said that we need to find a rupture. There is one in the Muasoleum apparently." Answered Dakota. "Do the ruptures take us into the Ascendant Realm?" I asked. "I would say so. But only getting one piece of information for this, and still being jammed, we're walking in blind." With that information, we trudged through the Dreadnought again. The massive canyon that I about fell in was before us again. Man, I hate those bridge segment things. "Alan, take this slow..." Said James. "I know, I know..." I moaned. Surprisingly, Colt scanned the environment for the next piece. After three minutes of careful walking, I made it across. Everyone else had turned left, down a long hallway. I, however, walked along the cliff edge. "Colt, look at that." There was a large, decorated door, and Taken mist seemed to rise from the pits. "I'm willin' to bet that is Oryx's throne room." "Oh really? What gave it away?" Colt looked at me. "Hey, can you detect any of those bridge things in that direction?" I asked. "Nope. But I am detecting someone with us..." I froze at the announcement. I turned around quickly, drawing my hand cannon! "Whoa! Watch it!" James caught my arm and kept me from aiming at him. "We found the Mausoleum. Come on." I looked to Colt. "You almost made me shoot my teammate!..." "What? No!" Colt acted shocked. "Without a doubt, I sensed another figure. I couldn't make out who it was." "Mmhm. Let's just go..." I said as I followed James. "Fine." Half an hour later, we entered a large room. It was partly destroyed from a large Cabal ship. "This place is amazing!" I said as I panned around the room. "The Hive have some great architecture!" "I don't know. That Cabal ship just gives the place some personality..." said Colt as he stared at the hull. "I mean, look. The constant, bland green and grey... then, boom! Red, blue, and yellow!" "So, what do we need to find?" Asked James. "We need to find statues. According to Eris, they control the rupture." Dakota looked at the holo-tablet. "Like the Court of Oryx?" I asked. "Yeah. After we get the gate open, we go for the King..." Dakota gave the holo-tablet back to T.C. "It's about time! It was just one thing after another, holding us back! But finally, our path is clear!... I want to put fear in the eyes of a big, bad King..." Morin had sat down and was tracing shapes in the dirt. Specifically the King's symbol. We had found a small cave, out of view of the Cabal, Hive, and Taken. Dakota, James, and Morin were planning our attack while I laid bored. "Vestian Outpost, this is Wolf Pack actual. Our mission to kill Oryx is back on schedule." Dakota waited a response but T.C. only played static back. "If you have recieved this transmission, please pass it to the Guardian Vanguard." There was still no response. "I love talking to brick walls.." said Colt. T.C. gave Dakota a sleeping bag. Pinea did the same for Morin, Susan did the same for James, and Colt did the same for me. "We will rest here before our assault. Maybe we could get a reply by that time." Dakota said as he cleaned his pulse rifle. "Don't get your hopes up. Something is still jamming us." James turned off his radio scanner. "Still?!" Yelled Pinea as she sat on Morin's shoulder. "I got friends to talk to..." Pinea slumped down. Colt tried to hold back a laugh, but failed. "Sorry. I had a hiccup." Colt looked around to see if anyone bought it. "And what friends? Mango? Guava?" "Hey, Colt! That is uncalled for!!" Shouted Pinea. Morin held Pinea away from Colt. "Easy, Pineapples." Pinea slumped down even more. "That's not my name..." She whispered. "We're trying to hide. Don't give our position away..." Warned Dakota.
I apologize that this post was shorter than most. I couldn't fit all of this on my last part.
