[spoiler]This chapter is a collaboration with Paradox1055, go read his stuff![/spoiler] Lighting flared from the clouds and struck down violently as blue sparks envelop Natasha. The enemies around her vaporize on the spot, leaving a breeze of ash in the wind. Natasha levitated off of the ground slightly and moved forward, sending sparks from her hands to the enemies around her. Arcs of thin blue electricity jump from everyone's suits to hers as she seemed tk drain the power from us. My HUD began to go haywire from the exposure and everyone else seemed to have some slight trouble as well. "Let's get it on!" Blake yelled, spinning from cover and letting his shotgun flare to life. "Uh, um. One second. I lost all control in my arm. Not sure what's up." Alan was looking down at his arm which was stiff and twitching slightly, sparks jumping from the exposed plates. Angelica moved back to help cover him. I moved with Rex following Natasha closely as we picked up orbs and looked for the Swordbearer. "Dakota, come with us." Rex said as he kind of spazzed a little from the arc coming off of him. Dakota nodded and followed, pointing out the Swordbearer amongst the crowd. "You eat fist. You eat fist. You eat fist!" yelled James as he pummeled several Hive, along with Morin and Kate who were having a blast. "This is fun!!" She yelled, letting her knife sink into the enemies face. As we approached the Swordbearer, Natasha split off and took care of the surrounding enemies, steadying our HUDs and leaving us with the large Knight roaring at us. "The Ascendant sword." Dakota muttered as he threw a grenade at the Knight and ran forward. "It is the bridge between the physical and, well, the ascendant." Rex rushed forward and unloaded both hand cannons into its armor, dodging a swing in the process. I moved to its backside and unloaded my shotgun. "Yea! Kill it!! Kill it!!" Cried Charles from my pocket before hiding once again. The Knight soon fell as the bullets pierced it's hide. The sword clattered to the ground and Dakota scooped down to pick it up, shouting into his comms. "We got the sword! Focus all fire on Crota!" I turned and looked at the monstrosity as Hammers of Sol and Golden bullets raced towards it. "Dakota get up there quick!" Blake yelled as he spawned a Ward near the back for retreat. "He won't be down long!" The massive Knight raised its arm to try and shield itself from the attack but the personal shield around it exploded, causing it to roar in pain and fall to one knee on the ground. Dakota rushed up the stairs, the sword's energy flowing through his arms, giving him an ominous glow. The massive Knight looked up, seeing Dakota approach him and tried to get up, but was unable. Dakota furiously swung, raining several blows onto it, damaging what once was untouchable. As Dakota went in for another swing, the Knight's shields regenerated and a shockwave eminated off of the Knight, causing Dakota to be blown back a few feet. It got back up on its feet and roared at us angrily, focusing on Dakota and pointing at him. "That's what I like to see!" Blake yelled. "Shoot him again." Rex said activating his Golden Gun. "Bring him down!" Everyone unloaded as much as they could. Rockets and bullets echoed in the empty space around us as the Knight tried to block the attacks but its shields gave up once again and it fell to its knee. Dakota raced forward and swung with the sword, bone rang against bone as he swung with all his might at the monstrosity before him. As the massive Knights shield went back up, the sword faded from Dakota's hands. Dakota looked to his hand as the shockwave caused him to fall off of the stage and into the dirt infront of Blake, who helped him up. The Knight stumbled to try and stand and moved back towards the portal, holding it's side. "Who said you could leave?!" Shouted James as he lobbed another rocket at the Knight. It flinched slightly and looked at all of us. It's eyes burned a bright white as it spoke angrily in its language and held up it's fist, one finger sticking up. "Did... Did he just flip us off?" Asked Blake in confusion. "How does he know about flipping people off?" Asked Kate, who was slitting a Thralls throat. "Question is who would teach that to the ene..." James stopped speaking as he turned, along with Blake, Dakota, and Morin back to Alan. Alan sighed and dropped my head. "Colt? Why?" "Just distributing human hospitality to Hive..." he replied, floating in place. Alan sighed then paused. He looked around him. "Is anyone else cold?" "Depends. What type of cold?..." Charles asked. "Void energy cold..." muttered Doc as he scribbled notes. "Well looks like they did all the work for us Smokey." Said a voice on top of the portal.
