Dear benevolent Bungie development team,
A few observations/suggestions from a Dead Orbit obsessed Alpha/Beta player:
1) What's driving the decision to link PvE and PvP weapon/Guardian performance? I believe you would address a boatload of player frustration if you would partition the constant stat-driven balance tweaking primarily to PvP. It's OK if the Vex, Icebreaker, Thorn and Nova Bomb etc "melt face" in PvE...we kinda like that.
2) The current level/light system needs to be retooled...a lot. I believe you struck a pretty good balance in the HoW era...old gear and Raids were relevant and, despite what was said in many official PR releases from Bungie's community manager, we are ok with using "old" gear. In fact, some of us still have an unhealthy attachment to certain pieces of equipment and it really sucks to not be able to use them in end game play anymore. More grind with less diversity of load out options = more frustrated, bored players.
3) Optional in-game matchmaking...show some love to the loners among us Bungie. Believe the "optional" piece is important though so the challenge obsessed can attempt solo nightfall, Raids etc.
4) New PvE special events and more PvE content. It would be nice to have them...nuff said.
5) Make faction affiliation meaningful. All kinds of potential content and plot driven goodness is being overlooked here.
6) When developing new "stuff" stop making the old stuff irrelevant. More is better.
Dead Orbit Forever,
BH Jedi

Amen to this!

This has been mentioned so much on these forums for more than a year but we probably wont ever get a response let alone some results. It is a fact that pvp has completely ruined this game and its pretty sad that they don't separate the stats when they are clearly able to, its almost like they done care or don't want to balance the game twice but that shouldn't be a problem that the player base should have to pay for when its their incompetence in the matter that is causing it.

BUMP, BUMP BUMP BUMP, BUUUMMMPPP
-
Dude the community has been saying this for a LONG time. I just wish they would listen.
-
Unfortunately they simply made "more faction affiliation" into extend the grind by making it one at a time and that's it

Edited by PRINCE_ALI_1985: 2/16/2016 4:36:05 PMThey can easily send a patch with 10-15 % increase dmg On minions of the darkness and that'll fix most of the resent nerfs. Hand cannons reserve ammo needs a serious buff.
-
I agree. Icebreaker and Invective should not regen ammo in PVP play as those are PVE features that make them useful in PVE, but can be game breaking in PVP with other specials not starting with ammo. If the intent is to make players rely on their primary weapons, then the ammo regeneration feature would most certainly classify as game-breaking.
-
Amen. This needs to be at the top of their list during any major restructuring of the game.
-
I think they tried during one of the shotgun patches? But after that, I never saw any separate weapon balancing since then. I'm sort of thinking it's not entirely them being incompetent, but just a terrible game engine that probably can't handle things like that. Just a guess though. :/

Bump! It would solve so many problems! As much as I line poisoning guardians with thorn, what event organizer (shax, saladin) would allow such weapons in their tournament?! :-D
-
I don't want to upset you but, Bungie can do separate updates. They did it before, if you looked for old weekly updates there were updates like "to non-human targets" etc. But they are too lazy to care about pve.
-
This is obvious to everyone but Bungie and assuming that it's obvious to them as well means that either A) they are simply ignoring the issue or B) it's just to hard to do.
-
This guy gets it^
-
Bump, With Destiny splitting PvE and PvP via returning to orbit it should be a no brainier that they should be separated, unlike the Division which only has a small tunnel dividing the PvE and PvP so you have seamless transition between the 2

Edited by REdrUm0351: 2/17/2016 2:11:51 PMJust imagine if they undid all the nerfs for PVE and allowed is to bring all of our exotics and legendaries forward into Year2. I would actually buy the expansion. Plus it would not hurt to undo all those ability nerfs for PVE. Then imagine if they added a story on top of this!!!!

Fusions may still rock. Vex Mythoclast would still mow down the darkness...
-
-
Won't happen. They've already ruined everything good in pve because of this. It's not going to change. I've stopped playing.
-
Yeah we addressed this shortly after Destiny launched. One of the reasons I stopped playing. Actually probably the main reason.
-
Stopped reading at 'Dead Orbit forever'. .......So I basically read the whole thing.
-
I didn't read the whole thing but definitely think the title is completely true.
-
-
Bump.

When PVP was announced people were worried. Bungie stated PVP would be separate than PVE to quiet fears of what the affects of Pvp would do to skills and weapons in PVE. Then they got lazy and ruined PVE not only by nerfing the weapons but not even allowing players to bring these weapons forward. I am still waiting for Bungie to fix this mess!

This goes back to how Bungie knows how we are supposed to play. Isn't it obvious Bungie knows best
