The Division Beta Dark Zone Exploit
So, fun fact, players can break a beta!
My friends and I accidentally stumbled upon a method that nets players infinite Dark Zone funds and Dark Zone reputation. Unfortunately, this glitch is barely circulating around the Internet. The current sources detailing the glitch have under 1000 views combined. I feel that, for the good of the development of this game, [b]the players should make this exploit obviously known to the development team.[/b]

The Dark Zone contains a safe house (marked with a yellow icon on your map in the DZ) that acts as a safe haven for you and your team. Enter the safe house and then leave.
Next, you will want to shoot at other players to raise your notoriety. You may only kill one person, or you may go on a manhunt. The higher you are, the more rewards you can obtain.
Once you're satisfied, find the map's border and run outside of the beta's parameters. Your screen will turn red, and you will be asked to return to the beta's playable area. Wait out the timer. You can actually go down (the state of waiting for someone to revive you) and the glitch will still work.
After the 10 seconds have elapsed, you will find yourself back inside the safe house with your bounty clock ticking. [b]Players can freely wait out their bounty times without harm to easily reap rewards and gain easy access to the best in-game loot.[/b]

Potentially. The soft boundaries are meant for players to stay within the set area. However, glitches can be easily duplicated in various forms. It is important for the development team to catch wind of this exploit so that they can think preemptively stop it from happening in the main game.
Sadly, the DZ will probably erupt into a "Kill On Sight" massacre for the final days of the beta. Fortunately, the developers can look into this issue. At least you now have the knowledge to counter players attempting the exploit, or you can use it for yourself to play around with the best loot. You have the ability to prevent players from pulling this exploit off, but you have to work with a team to cut off more than one player trying to escape.
If anything, you're going to find more and more players running around with golden assault rifles and purple attachments/gear tomorrow.

People know about this and it has turned the DZ toxic. A bunch of groups of 4 ambushing solo players then running like little bitches off the map and into the safe zone. It's -blam!-ing wack.

Seems as though you're just cannon fodder for the glitchers who've amassed DZ creds and bought all too gear. It's about like IB in this sense, these guys are using glitch and getting great gear/weapons (think 320 light). You go in with nominal shit (think 200-250 light) and get burnt every time because they cannot be killed with health at 5K+. I saw 7 guys attacking these two rogues with these super load outs and they could not be killed. Edit: after two hours nobody is even trying to counter or rebut this claim, just shows you how bad this game will be in a few months. Filled with glitchers and lazies who'll then complain that the game is shit because they took a cheaters path.

5 RepliesAs long as the Devs find and fix it in the full release I don't mind. Thinking about it, there probably won't be an out of bounds area when the whole thing is accessible anyway. That said, it's kinda sad that people are actually trying to exploit a game in its beta for the best gear. Why can't people just enjoy playing?? Same with destinys 3oC and others.

1 ReplyBump. Ran into a group doing this earlier today. They'd kill someone and get to the top of that building north of the garage extraction point, and just farm people who tried to follow them up the rope. Once they had a 5* wanted level, they'd just go down the back rope into the restricted zone and do the glitch mentioned in the OP. [spoiler]If you run into a group doing this, you can actually get to the back rope and flank a team up there. To the east there's another restricted area, but some doorways are positioned so that they're just barely in bounds. After going out of bounds, and running west from door to door, you can actually make it all the way down the street and to the back rope before dying.[/spoiler]

1 ReplyMy friend and I stumbled upon this accidently on Friday! We were being chased because we were rogue and we ended up taking a rope up to a rooftop that I located earlier on. From what we knew at the time, it only had one way up and plenty of cover. So we held our own up there for a little while until a lot of other players simultaneously came up the rope and pushed us back. My friend noticed that there was another rope on the back side so we quickly took that down and ended up being transported to a safe house! After we did it a few more times with the man hunt debuff, we realized that it was much quicker to get DZ currency from baiting other teams into going rogue. We had maxed legendaries early this morning after that haha

This glitch is less "breaking the beta" and more of an annoyance. Clearing a manhunt from rogue gets you 777 dark zone rep. But if you kill a team that's gone manhunt then you can basically afford any item in the DZ. I made over ten thousand DZ cash today by playing solo and killing NPCs and rogue players. I've literally bought every item from every DZ vendor today in order to keep my DZ cash low (so not to lose it on death) and to try it all out. I get what you're saying by wanting it patched, but people are going to bitch about this glitch more so than its actually worth.

This won't be possible in the real game. I say this because they won't put in a "better go back or you get teleported" in the real game because that would just be stupid. It's a beta don't see them doing anything. It be a simple fix as "if you have a rogue rank and try to do that you die as if someone killed you", that simple as that.

1 ReplyI broke it even worse before, but not on purpose. I ended up having invincibility (well, sorta). I did something with the cover system and a med pack. I think it caused my health to be healed from a med pack, over and over. The only thing that could bring my health down was multiple explosions. Not sure how many exactly but I was unable to take damage, until a full group (which accused me of "hacking" lol) hammered me with the explosive ability and grenades. I've tried to replicate the bug but am unable to. Hopefully someone can figure it out so it'll get patched and not happen again.
