Edit(9:10pm): [spoiler]As per feedback from SupaSkrub, it [b]is important [/b]to remember this study is a [i]piecemeal result of only 100 games[/i] and there's no way to conduct a fully conclusive study with fully accurate findings based on the inability to gather results from the opposing team for every team we did gather results from. [/spoiler] Poll topic: Please vote (and give feedback) on rewards being a higher chance to be towards players who work harder, and rewards improved to be rewarded to players in pvp who DO the most work. Or, vote that the rewards in pvp stay the same, for any reason you legitimize. To community: Hey everyone... I do appreciate you take 5 minutes and see the results of rewards for 100 crucible matches for Clash and Control. It represents the rewarding of your pvp efforts on average. And to be clear... what finalized the decision to post this vid and share these results, was me receiving a Red Spectre in 6th place of a pvp match with nobody else in my team getting ANYTHING legendary. Note to Bungie and their Devs/bosses:[spoiler]Heya Luke, Lars, Mark, Sage, Jon, Jason, Deej, Cozmo... Originally, I started keeping track of crucible rewards because my intent [b]was to track my own personal 1st place highest KDR legendary rewards[/b]. However, after [b][i]SEEING THE RESULTS[/i][/b] of what was appearing to be more and more of a sinking result in legendary and double rewards for lowest KDR [b]and[/b] double rewards for players who were contributing [i]the least[/i] in a [i]TEAM BASED GAME MODE[/i] I kept a log of results with a friend. What finalized my decision, despite how many great things are IN the game, what [i]pushed me[/i] into finalizing the math and releasing this to the community, was the most recent game where I was in SIXTH PLACE, after doing a sub par job as a member of my team and BEING [i]REWARDED[/i] [i][b]RED SPECTRE[/b][/i] in the rewards screen being the [i]only player on my team to receive a legendary[/i] with the rest of my team getting absolutely nothing when [i]they[/i] clearly contributed the majority of work and I was far from being a main factor in our win. That, is NOT fair to the players who worked the hardest and made the biggest efforts.[/spoiler]

      Wow that's BS. Bungie needs to fix that. The fact that first place more times than less gets less than the people in sixth. Rewards need to be based on skill, kdr, and points.

          • Rewards in PVP are absolutely trash. Play one strike and play 4 crucible matches. You'll immediately see that in that one strike you came out with more glimmer, blue engrams, and glimmer turn ins. Now you're going to say "but that's not upgrades", and if you did, thanks for following my internal dialog. Upgrade materials, even after the pve economy nerf you get double the materials via pve than you do pvp. No planetary materials, ever. You're telling me spirit bloom just doesn't bloom in shores of time? Light level from rewards are always too low for infusion fodder after 290. Why does 260-279 even exist as a reward once you've reached 280 light, PvE and PvP? PvP needs to be more rewarding. Especially in a time when more people are flocking to PvP due to content exhaustion.

            • Not surprised. Broken rewards system from the very start. In Sparrow racing I just goofed off, played around the finish line. Went backwards through the track. Tried to find secrets or see how far I could go off map. Got a ton of legendary and exotic drops for my troubles.

              Who says these rewards need to be gear, I remembered watching something on customisation before release, I pictured badges, emblems, medals, bands that could be placed on your guardian showing off your high kds, and other skills. Just a thought

                • Even before looking at the vid I could of told you not to play PvP for good drops and when and if they magically happen, be prepared to get the same damn Spare Change over and over and over again. And sometimes its totally random that your the only person not to get a blue drop hahaha

                  • It's set up this way as incentive for people who have either just started playing the pvp or who are not good to keep them playing. It makes it a "rewarding" experience even when you do poorly. Pretty smart on bungle's part really, but frustating to people who do well in pvp. (Don't shoot the messenger)

                      Bump Rewards are super inconsistent This is all the rng lotto thing I guess everyone has a shot to get something Maybe let 4-6 place get the rng stuff Items that are rewarded & should be rewarded based on performance, light level, and hitting rank or leveling up. Possible exotic, guaranteed legendary and currency for 1st Legendary and currency for 2nd Chance of legendary & blues or currency for 3rd Losing team, too bad? I'm cool with that. [b]Blues[/b] Turn them into a cryptarch who gives u more blues and trash? Lol

                    • The results are quite stunning (not really). However, to get more reliable results, you should try this again with a full fireteam. Why? Because I can't tell you many times I've received nothing on the rewards screen, only to get them either in the orbit screen or postmaster. Without knowing the 4-5 players in a given match, there is no way to determine their true rewards. However, there definitely is a trend towards rewarding lesser players. That can't really be argued.

                          • That seems lopsided, doesn't it? I can personally vouch that when I've been dropped into matches that are almost complete and I have just enough time to be heavied and supered a few times that my post game rewards have more often than not have been a legendary of some kind. I take it as a peace offering from Bungie for constantly dropping me into blowout matches. If the loot system is in fact an equal opportunity RNG, those numbers should be closer. More likely, it's a way to keep people that lose matches playing longer. The ol' carrot on a stick.

                              Cute video (quite funny) and yes the rewards over 100 games do look out of kilter, however your data gathering could be seen as being flawed. Reason being it seems you took a 6v6 game mode yet only took the results from your own team, there is another 6 players on there who's rewards are unaccounted for, until you can get data from both teams ( I don't think it's possible in post match rewards/carnage ) then there is nothing that couldn't imply that while higher places on your team were getting poorly rewarded that on the other team it was totally the opposite and visa versa. But yeah on the data what you do have it does appear one sided (we have said all along that it is), is the rng weighted? I wouldn't like to guess, but one thing for sure is that pure unweighted rng would give wildly differing returns for every 100 games analysed, so basically not enough blocks of 100 games compared and also data from the other team is missing. On what you have done then yes it does look weighted, but it's inconclusive.
