Can we have a Crucible Playoffs Event for PVP?
Can you create a crucible playoffs that would make players more interested who plays crucible every day and that we can get a high-end gear by winning legitimate and more competitive gaming rather than Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris.
Iron Banner was great at times where players aim for high-end gear by ranking.
Trials of Osiris was brilliant in most cases for getting high-end gear by getting a better record. Although it had buffs and chances, but it was overall brilliant.
Therefore, it would be amazing if Destiny would like to have a crucible playoffs every week or month. So that players can enjoy the thrill of playing in a tournament to win high-end gear depending on our advance in different rounds. It would be awesome and a wish to all the players in destiny who likes the crucible and could benefit PVE players as well as PVP Players.
For Example:
Round of 16 - Strange coins, Mote of Light or Three of Coins if won
Quarter-Finals - 290+ weapon or armor if won
Semi-Finals - 310+ weapon or armor if won
Finals - 330+ weapon or armor if won

This will help every PVP and PVE players to get some sweet loot and this will bring more competitiveness in this game. Right now, PVP is about to go down into the pit. Iron Banner: Low-skill based players (All they gonna do is rank up reputation, Not hard at all) Trials of Osiris: Mid-Skill based players (Get a team and earn at better record at 9-0, 9-1 or 9-2, Players get three chances and use buffs) Playoffs: High-skill based players (Get a perfect team or lucky team by matchmaking and You can't lose a match) My thoughts for having a playoff event would be amazing for high-skill players and it would look good for PVP so we can enjoy a proper tournament for legitimate sweet loot by winning. On the other side for Low to Mid-range skill players will have tough time winning because they can't get any close. (P.S. I seen this already on another forum but some people find it good idea here. So i comment)

1 ReplyI like the idea. However, I prefer such events with certain rules applying - for instance no exotic armor, no heavy ammo (if it's a 3V3, especially). Gear as rewards - I don't know. I don't play Trials for the Lighthouse rewards at all as I don't need them anymore. The competitive playerbase would only play it for the fun and the thrill after a couple events - just as you described with IB and ToO. Overall, I think such events are better organized individually - with the possibility to host custom/private matches in the game! I recently launched a website ([url=http://www.destinytournaments.com]Destiny Tournaments[/url]) and aim to organize competitive events. No rewards in terms of gear, but maybe certain competitions may even beckon with a prize pool one day - we'll see. Private matches would definitely boost the popularity of custom games - it would significantly improve the PvP experience in general as you don't spend much time matching up with your friends/competitive foes of choice.

I'm okay at crucible but I wouldn't even bother participating as I'm not anywhere near good enough to get anywhere

2 RepliesTo have Crucible Playoffs in Destiny would be too competitive. It's actually not a bad idea for high-skilled players like myself and others but at the same time, there are players at low or mid-skill range would not make this far. I don't think those players could past round 1 because they are going to get hammered. Still, Crucible needs more competitiveness and is actually a good idea to have the playoffs event for the Next DLC because trials of osiris is getting boring at the same time but very useful.

Not a bad idea, some sort of SBMM would have to be in place for this so it isn't a stomping fest for pre made teams.
