OMG I cant believe you only have one other up on this thread besides mine. Your thread is so important, so on point, and could greatly help out many guardians trying to find the right machine gun still. I could agree with almost everything you said if not all of it (sorry skimmed a bit at the end there). You seriously did your homework and have an almost unbelievable comprehensive level of knowledge and understanding on this topic i just cant believe you dont have a million comments and likes. Hell i thought i already knew everything i could about this topic from my testing and everyone i know in game comes to me when they have questions or wanna know anything so that means a lot that you helped me better sort out my outlook on my heavy MG option(s). My problem ive been wrestling with that TTK on the jolders vs the other options like bretomarts i need that slow firing 50-100 cal bullet firing monster feel you know =D anyways i think ive settled on the bretomarts for when im too lazy to hot swap my light level for leg drop loot in stuff, i havnet actually tested if the bret takes one more shot to kill or what yet in crucible with the lack of heavy and me wanting to just have fun. I just know you cant get anymore heavies with the 61 impact that the jolders n against all odds had, they fired slow enough that the stability was never a problem, usually that is, i miss em not to mention the ole 100 round corrective measure and picking ammo off bodies or the 150 or was it 180 round prestige IV, my first MG with literally capped rof back when that was a rare thing.

  • Thanks for the reply and compliment, always great to hear positive feedback. I guess the Bungie community isn't too vocal when it comes to he HMG topic, though my post on snipers (referenced in the first paragraph) got some decent feedback. As for me trying out the Bretomart's, I have been playing a lot of Trials (yes, using HMG just for fun; though rockets are still a super strong choice on most maps) and haven't had a truly fair test - due to my Quillum being a much higher LL @ 320. I have gotten a lot of play time with my Unseeing Eye @ 308 and find the handling of than gun at first try to feel so much smoother than I found Bretomart's to be. I think it is going to be a close run down between those 2 and the NM's HMG for my all time favorite though. I am going to run some clash this coming week and really bust the 3 out for some thorough examinations. I will let you know the results my playtime yields. More on this soon.

Look forward to see what you have to say but im a really logical linear thinker so ive already got most all of it mapped out in my head its more about memorizing what i like and memorizing the actual feel of something in practice for examples since launch my experience of going from beta scout rifle lover and hand cannon hater to a die hard hand cannon fan on live for having the vanguard one pushed on me with no better primary options, and then having to adjust to the nerfs on those i moved to pulse rifles and fell in love with those right before the buffs to them (red death for example when it was hard as hell to 2 burst with but still great to use) and always loving my hunter over my main warlock and rocking radiant dance machines and say lightweight or a mida, combine that with playing with shotguns from beta till their initial nerf and then un nerf so to speak where the only shot guns that were worth anything were your typical felwinter clones, i quickly moved to the low zoom heavy hitting snipers, and luckily thanks to using the ice breaker since xur first sold it i was able to adjust. So with that all taken into consideration i can tell you, i need to be able to have agility and movement options, as for the guns i like if not love weapons that have high reward high risk, followed by weapons that allow you to see your opponents coming (third eye) my best hand cannon and the best hand cannon ive ever seen if you ask me is my lord high fixer with third eye hip fire lightweight and sureshot and uve got a weapon with quick equip high AA, and lots of versatility, power, and speed for you and the gun. I always followed that hand cannon up with the two cheapest weapons ive ever seen in the game, first was the invisible hand m7 shotty with shot package full auto and your choice of either field choke+field scout or aggressive ballistics/linear compensator, combined with perfect balance. Let that shotgun be in someones hand with a clip and you wont live past thte 75 -80 equip speed crazy rate of fire crazy range and most importantly of all thanks to the handling an ads speed so fast i can, sprint, ADS, Fire, Sprint, ADS, Fire to my hearts content and you couldnt back peddle faster than i could push towards you while firing at you nearly as fast as an invective can naturally. This thing naturally fires pretty much as fast as a 4th horseman with more controllable recoil if you can believe it. I have a video of this happening to an enemy of mine because it was so cheap had i practiced the timing it would have made the game boring. Then when i had to switch to snipers i discovered that my old supremacy from the orignal queens wrath had basically the same stats as the LDR and was tied if not at least in the top 3 of snipers at tht time with 76 aim assist which i need for my 4x slower than avg human reflexes to make me feel competitive i guess could be a word to describe it. This thing had enough impact of course (31) for headshots through revive shields and could 1 shot toe shot you at random since final round never procced like final round but more like luck in the chamber if there was a version called luck in the ammo reserve on steroids lol. This supremacy has send it but i found i did better in games utilizing the leightweight roll it had over that and it came with ambush and needless to say final round, and with that combo i could care less if it rolled performance bonus for extra reserve ammo procs on kills since it never really id much. Moving onto the lovely nirewens mercy was a nice change of pace since i was always mixing around with the red death, spare change, mida and my pretious hand cannon still after their initial two nerfs that put hand cannons in a very tough place. So going into that nirwens and a 1k yard stare i found that my ideal zoom is between 12-18 on a primary and between 12-40 on a secondary with an aim assist of between 55 and beyond the higher the better for me on anything really. Equip speeds and ADS speeds are quickly the next most important thing like in the case of the mida which is my go to now a days ; / i just need to find a sniper with 31 impact 19 rof and over 70 aim assist, i see the 1k yard stare can hit 71 but i believe thats using perks and shortgaze but most likely that one high zoom very high AA scope with a perk or maybe its factoring in quick swap, Then when it comes to heavies its always been jolders with at least 40-45 rounds if i could so kindly get that much from the destiny gods lol either that or go home, there will never be a better heavy for me, i feel rocket launchers are far too easy i had that, cheapest possible nades n horeshoes ash factory which was fun but it just reminded me of using my old hip fire plug one or id say peruns fire but at that point think the fusion rifles werent as crazy as they were like when i first got my plug one which was the first weapon that allowed me to solo the 2nd nightfall odly enough, then little do i know xur is selling the ice breaker unless im thinking of week 3. But that fusion rifle was just liek run around charge shoot get a 5 kill streak 10 streak oh no i have a a 15 streak okay im bored, lemme try and slide shotty with my invisible hand m7 against one of these and then ill really start to have a good time. I do really miss the old pvp days idk if a lot of veterans feel like this but this game has just been degrading as time has gone it almost feels like every patch the game gets worse whcih realistically would be and is crazy but in retrospect it lines up with the passing of time and loss of luster in the game for me sadly. But im still here to stay i just pve more and more sadly. Anyways that was a crazy tangent hopefully you found some entertainment or value of some sort in it, i love chatting nostalgically about crucible.
