VoG I think I found the first trigger. VoG secret confirmed?

I've been working on this one for a while now and I think I've tested it enough to finally confirm it. So remember the first phase of the VoG when you need to defend the sync plates? And after you complete it there's that little song that plays as the spire beam is opening the door? Well there are three different songs that can play there and I figured out what triggers each one. The first song will always play regardless of how you open the door as long as you are playing on normal difficulty. The second song will play on hard difficulty if you lose a sync plate during the phase. You'll know you've lost a plate when the message pops up saying, “The Vex are taking control of a Sync Plate”. It’s kinda hard to hear over the shotgun but I included some links to cleaner videos of each song at the end. The third and final song, the one that I believe is the “correct” song to play, will only play on hard difficulty if you complete the entire phase without losing a single sync plate. I tested each song multiple times to make sure that that's what triggers each one and that they aren't just RNG. I don't know about you guys but this pretty much confirms for me that there is still some sort of secret left in the Vault of Glass. I would guess that the next trigger is somewhere in the Templar room since another song plays when you kill the Templar but I have no idea how to get it to change or if that's even what will change if that part of the raid is done correctly. The Templar song is the same whether he is killed on normal, hard, or with no teleports on either difficulty so maybe there is something that needs to be done during the conflux or oracle phases, or maybe there's a Templar trigger besides no teleports. Also, as a side note, one of the Cryptarch’s pieces of idle dialogue says, “Now what use would creatures like that have for music? No... It's language. Code, signal!”, so maybe the songs have some deeper meaning if we translate them somehow? Anyways this will hopefully get us on the right track and get more people interested in finding the secret. I think everyone should keep in mind when searching for secrets in the Vault that they might not find anything if they haven't done everything right up to that point. Thoughts, theories, questions? Edit: I think I may have uploaded the wrong video for one of hard mode success songs. I'll check when I get home and upload the correct video. Edit 2: Yeah I definitely uploaded the wrong video for Hard mode plates kept. The video I uploaded is one of the normal mode videos I have so I'll change that as soon as I can. The Hard mode plates kept video that show the whole run is the right video however so if you want to hear the song and I haven't changed it yet just watch that one. Also I'll see if I have a cleaner video of the Hard mode plates lost song that doesn't have gunfire over it. Edit 3: Ok all the links should be to the right videos now. I fixed the hard mode, plates kept video and put in a different hard mode, plates lost video because the one I had was hard to hear. Edit 4: Wow this got a lot more attention than I thought it would.       While I don't have the spare time for theories like this, I think I have something to help you out. I remember seeing a thread on b.net back during HoW of someone also following a VoG lead involving music. His involved the oracles. He claimed the notes the oracles play when showing locations correlates to a Destiny song (I believe the vanilla opening theme). His theory was that they needed to be killed in a specific order on each phase to play a certain song and unlock a secret.                   As cool as this is and great that you found these songs, I doubt there is any real secret left. The Devs over at Bungie don't exactly have deep thought like the majority of the players do.

                        • Perhaps the missing clue for the Templar's alt song is to ZERO sacrifices during conflux defense. In any case... I always suspected that there's still an undiscovered secret somewhere in the Gorgon's Labyrinth. I have two reasons for this: 1. There are two distinct paths that you can take, from the start, to reach the Templar's Well, the straightforward path and the 'underneath' path (where the ghost fragments are hidden during Daily Heroic). Similarly, there are two distinct ways to travel from the Templar's Well to the Gorgon's Labyrinth. Why [i]shouldn't[/i] there be an alternate path from the Gorgon's Labyrinth to Atheon's Throne room? 2. It's the Gorgon's [i]Labyrinth[/i]. A labyrinth, by definition, is different from a maze. A maze starts at Point A, and ends at Point B. A labyrinth ends at the same point where it begins. My theory, then, is that several triggers must be achieved (never lose a sync plate, don't allow any conflux sacrifices, prevent Templar teleport, who knows what else), prior to arrival at the Gorgon's Labyrinth. Once in the Labyrinth, a route must be traveled to extinguish the blue flames that, you may or may not have noticed, will go out when you get near them. Through the Labyrinth and back, a new path forward to Atheon would become available. I apologize if any of what I've written here is difficult to understand, I haven't had enough coffee yet this morning.

                          • I thinks it's a reference that The Vex are ver much alike Rasputin. They both work with Super Minds. They both operate on a program that lets them think freely but will always have a set goal. Most of all, they both run simulations to predict the future and then do what they can to prevent futures they don't like. -Vex Predicted their defeat but knew they couldn't do anything so they just kept going. -Rasputin predicted the Traveler was going to leave so Rasputin crippled the Traveler so that it could not leave. This music could either be just some random audio, or it could be revealing more lore about the Vex and Rasputin. Rasputin has used Vex Tech before, maybe he is the reason the stranger can time travel. -He used the Mythoclast Tech and more Vex Tech to creat the Pocket Infinity. -The Gunsmith used the help of Vex Cores and Rasputin Tech to craft the Sleeper Simulant -The AC/D Feedback Fence uses Vex Tech to redirect incoming melee damage and has many similarities to other Rasputin Creations. All in all, there is a lot more lore regarding the Vex, Rasputin, The Traveler, and The Stranger that is yet to be known. Good find though.

                              I think we've worked out the second part, now I don't know which parts are irrelevant but I'll share everything: [b][u]Spire[/u][/b] We did everything as above for HM. [b][u]Conflux[/u][/b] - Allow 1 sacrifice round 1, 2 sacrifices round 2, 3 sacrifices round 3 -Nobody died -Nobody got marked You hear a distinct jingle after the end of Confluxes. [b][u]Oracles[/u][/b] We managed to get a perfect run on Oracles, we managed to kill every "dummy Oracle" in Round 0, and then successful every other round without getting marked, but noticed no difference. We did have one guardian die at this stage. [b][u]Templar[/u][/b] Also cleared Templar with No Teleport technique, again no progress there.

                                  • on occassion I've seen 2 sets of platforms spawn at the jumping puzzle. Sometimes both spawn, sometimes just 1. I've always thought that maybe 6 guardians need to take both paths all the way through the VoG. 3 go one way and 3 go the other. someone said theres 2 paths for every section, and clearly at the jumping puzzle sometimes one doesnt activate. personally i think platforms is related to the no teleport templar. There could be other activations for each section. i cant imagine they would be super complicated but you do have to activate all of them. And who honestly believes theres only 1 secret chest after the templar. There could easily be more and why wouldnt there be. 1 secret chest in the whole raid? with all that explorable content and game mechanics... it just seems very unlikely to me they wouldnt put more in.

                                    • Just imagine that all those things, plates kept; right oracles order; no templar teleport etc. truly lead to something hidden in the Vault. And now imagine that this thing is Xylar, put there from developers after all the stories about him, just to hear the first team to discover him going f*ckin' mad about it, screaming and shouting to each other. And finally imagine how to, learning that in the end, Xylar truly exists, this forum is ABSOLUTELY GOING TO EXPLODE.
