I personally don't feel like it is, no objectives may promote camping. I won't be surprised to see people camping their own spawn with snipers and only occasionally venturing forward for special ammo.
What are your opinions? Would it have been better off still being control? Or another game mode?
EDIT Some very good points being made in favour of clash, obviously the blueberries having no clue of holding objectives in control was a major drag for everyone who knew to hold flags. Kills only should (you'd expect) be easy enough for those random teammates.
EDIT 2 A lot of guardians happy for the change, which I totally agree on, many happy that they won't have to rely on blueberries to play objectives too, again I agree.
As we all know, the standard of players in the banner compared to regular crucible (barring daily modes) drops slightly, do you feel it is easier to carry a team to victory despite only a few going positive K/DRs?
EDIT 3 Nice to see so many of you with constructive comments and reasoning to your choices, only a few toxic comments, who, with their stats, will not be enjoying the banner regardless of game type.
I'm definitely looking forward to challenging some of you guardians during the event and maybe even seeing you owning as the blueberries on my team too.
Most of all, I hope the banner blesses you all with good RNG (yes even the toxic commenters), we all know how bad it can be.
EDIT IN PLAY
Well as we all know banner has arrived. And whilst I'm enjoying the change. Playing alone provides new challenges other than the mode itself. I've had to almost literally carry teams to a win on a few occasions and it's definitely not as fun (for me) as it used to be. If any of you are finding difficulty getting a group together for PS4 send me a pm and we could run together. My stats are available (PS not much history as was a new account)

More of a clash guy , a lot of people should hit level 5

Just play Iron Banner and enjoy the change. Sometimes a little change is good. The move is intended to attract players, not chase them away. For a very long time IB was monotonous. I hope this breathes new life into it and returns excitement and fun to the game. I can only hope...

1 ReplyIt's a start. They should just rotate all game modes IMO. RNG doesn't care how good you are anyways.
-
Yes, because now we don't have to worry about the plebs who just go around killing people, instead of capping zones. Also, it's going to be a nice change, considering iron has always been control, and I get tired of playing control for a whole week straight.
-
I like it before because the game could switch leaders if you took your foot off and lost zone.... Now it will be decided by mercy rules all day long.... Join a losing team will mean a loss.... Rather in control a well placed super taking a control point can flip the whole match
-
Get ready for the 1000 yard banner..time to dust off the invective.

Edited by Kidy97: 11/13/2015 10:11:12 AMYES, because people couldn't understand control and I always had the worst teammates ever. I can play solo now or play with only a team of slayers. I'm used to think this of my teammates: " When I die I want them to be my pallbearers, just so they can let me down once again"
-
Yes. It's about effing time.
-
Hell yes, because it seems no one EVER pays a damn bit attention to the control points
-
I always like control for same reason I play domination in Call of Duty. It's team death match but you have a general area where the enemies will be heading or hiding based on point captures.
-
Campers, snipers, crouching shotgunners, umm crouching fusion riflers, uhh crouching snipers who quickscope. Errr campers.
-
After bounty no one goes for the capture points. They should just have both up in an iron banner playlist ffs

Yes x1000000000 Ever since IB was introduced I have been thoroughly disappointed with it being control. I've always avoided capture game modes when I could because if you do not have a team that communicates it's a lost cause. All of my friends that play destiny only play for about an hour or so and then I'm left having to either carry randoms or hope for a good team. In IB, relying on a bunch of players that do not talk or aren't that smart makes playing control a frustrating experience. When I played IB during year 1 I would just go for kills and screw trying to get caps if my teammates were useless. The easiest solution, AND THIS SHOULDVE BEEN THE CASE SINCE THE BEGINNING BUNGIE, was to make IB a random playlist of either Control or Clash. However, as this game has proven, common sense does not exist in the decision making group at Bungie. I for one, and everyone else I know that plays this game, am happy they finally decided to switch it up. I just cannot fathom what the hell took so long in doing this. If it's not going to be a random mode, make one month Clash and the next Control. Simple solution, but it'll never happen.

At least randoms know how to -blam!-ing kill each other, much less play objectives

6 RepliesIt's easier to win a clash match
It's also easier for your teammates to let you down
-
3 RepliesYes, everyone plays control as if it was clash anyway.
-
1 ReplyNo. No teamwork=camping snipe fest.
-
4 RepliesYea because when it comes to objective based gametypes, the dumbshït randoms on my team (Always only my team of course) can't win a match to save their lives. They're all like "What's an objective?! Here let me sit here with my thumb up my áss, that'll help probably." Forgive my rant. I've been playing the tumorous 10% of Destiny (Crucible) with teammates who I'm confident don't know what an objective is.
-
1 ReplyI said I'd explain.... AND THEN I DIDN'T. "Bad boys, bad boys....."
-
1 ReplyBlueberries will always be blueberries, that's why they're blue! Watch as they go 3-18 k/d because they think they're Rambo. Two of those land on your team and guess what,...Yup back at square one.
-
5 RepliesAt least everyone knows How to play this objective. FeelsGoodMan
-
Well in clash sucky players will bring you down, but not as much as they do in control
-
1 ReplyAs long as they don't do rumble
-
It's great for people like me, who aren't very good. I'm just about positive in Clash, so I might be useful. Plus I expect to spend a lot of time Chaperone-ing Conspiracy Theory users...

Because.
