I personally don't feel like it is, no objectives may promote camping. I won't be surprised to see people camping their own spawn with snipers and only occasionally venturing forward for special ammo.
What are your opinions? Would it have been better off still being control? Or another game mode?
EDIT Some very good points being made in favour of clash, obviously the blueberries having no clue of holding objectives in control was a major drag for everyone who knew to hold flags. Kills only should (you'd expect) be easy enough for those random teammates.
EDIT 2 A lot of guardians happy for the change, which I totally agree on, many happy that they won't have to rely on blueberries to play objectives too, again I agree.
As we all know, the standard of players in the banner compared to regular crucible (barring daily modes) drops slightly, do you feel it is easier to carry a team to victory despite only a few going positive K/DRs?
EDIT 3 Nice to see so many of you with constructive comments and reasoning to your choices, only a few toxic comments, who, with their stats, will not be enjoying the banner regardless of game type.
I'm definitely looking forward to challenging some of you guardians during the event and maybe even seeing you owning as the blueberries on my team too.
Most of all, I hope the banner blesses you all with good RNG (yes even the toxic commenters), we all know how bad it can be.
EDIT IN PLAY
Well as we all know banner has arrived. And whilst I'm enjoying the change. Playing alone provides new challenges other than the mode itself. I've had to almost literally carry teams to a win on a few occasions and it's definitely not as fun (for me) as it used to be. If any of you are finding difficulty getting a group together for PS4 send me a pm and we could run together. My stats are available (PS not much history as was a new account)

People treat it like clash either way

Edited by girflush: 11/13/2015 4:06:26 AMYes control is a total mess when both teams just constantly rush forward completely ignoring objectives

4 RepliesAre you going to like being shot gunned in the head by a hunter whose invisible and crouched behind / in a corner?

3 RepliesIt's a good move but I think it should change from time to time like it could be clash this time maybe control the time or rumble even Add rumble to rotation
-
Clash is better. In control, if you had the right flags, you basically already won. Clash is based on how many kills your team gets
-
Yup. Iron banner has always been a way for casuals to level up But control has always been better for teams. And everyone knows how stressful it can be expecting randoms to capture a zone. Clash just let's anyone hop into iron banner and level up without having to worry about getting games with premades vs randoms. Plus it's good for some change finally. Every iron banner has been control. It honestly should just rotate game modes every month. I'm sure iron banner elimination would get plenty of people into trials.

Spawns Nuff said

1 ReplyYes. Why? Because now people who dont know what Playing The Objective is can finally have a purpose in the game mode.
-
It is great that I will not have to play the objective, but it sucks enemies will not be concentrated on a spot

8 RepliesEdited by GATORSFTW94: 11/13/2015 3:23:35 AMYes! Dealing with idiot teammates just got a whole lot more manageable! Now instead of relying on randoms who will fail 9/10 times when it comes to defending the objective all they have to do is simply shoot the enemy! Now the next annoying issue. People who take all the heavy for themselves iron banner.

1 ReplyIt could be a promise for...MAYHEM IRON BANNER

1 ReplyMayhem clash sounds better

No because literally two people can carry the entire team. Possibly even one person could carry the entire team they need to have a pure objective game type
-
Yes because it actually focuses on skill instead of seeing how many sunbreakers you can cram into your team so that you can be in constant control of the zones. I understand sunbreakers will still be all over IB, but at least you don't have to worry about trying to capture a zone with 20 hammers flying at your face
-
yes! I've been hoping for this for months!
-
Doesn't make any difference to me, Control is just Clash with a few distractions.
-
1 ReplyAlot of people are glad that less objective means less tards not doing the correct thing. However, as someone who has played a lot of clash its these same tards that are gonna go 0.33 kd and cause ur team to lose. I think banner will still be dominated by fireteams. That being said i think clash offers alot of change and not playing to dominate the same small portion of the map every single game. Im excited for a change
-
It's not like people actually played the objectives in control anyways

For control, we are given multiple objectives: kill the enemy team, capture the zones, defend the zones. With clash, we only have one objective: become the mothertrucking terminator and wreak havoc

1 ReplyYep....teammates have less ways to be retarded....
but somehow they still find a way
