I personally don't feel like it is, no objectives may promote camping. I won't be surprised to see people camping their own spawn with snipers and only occasionally venturing forward for special ammo.
What are your opinions? Would it have been better off still being control? Or another game mode?
EDIT Some very good points being made in favour of clash, obviously the blueberries having no clue of holding objectives in control was a major drag for everyone who knew to hold flags. Kills only should (you'd expect) be easy enough for those random teammates.
EDIT 2 A lot of guardians happy for the change, which I totally agree on, many happy that they won't have to rely on blueberries to play objectives too, again I agree.
As we all know, the standard of players in the banner compared to regular crucible (barring daily modes) drops slightly, do you feel it is easier to carry a team to victory despite only a few going positive K/DRs?
EDIT 3 Nice to see so many of you with constructive comments and reasoning to your choices, only a few toxic comments, who, with their stats, will not be enjoying the banner regardless of game type.
I'm definitely looking forward to challenging some of you guardians during the event and maybe even seeing you owning as the blueberries on my team too.
Most of all, I hope the banner blesses you all with good RNG (yes even the toxic commenters), we all know how bad it can be.
EDIT IN PLAY
Well as we all know banner has arrived. And whilst I'm enjoying the change. Playing alone provides new challenges other than the mode itself. I've had to almost literally carry teams to a win on a few occasions and it's definitely not as fun (for me) as it used to be. If any of you are finding difficulty getting a group together for PS4 send me a pm and we could run together. My stats are available (PS not much history as was a new account)

I personally was getting bored of playing control in IB it'll be nice to have a change I prefer clash to control anyway
-
Cause it can get ready boring rushing for the zones instead of just killing each other
-
1 ReplyDon't like it. Bad teammates will be an even worse hindrance and it'll promote camping. In control even players that have bad K/D can contribute by helping capture or stopping capture in numbers.
-
So it's going to be a bigger version of trials. No matter what they do people with complain. If they are camping have your whole team flank them. Easy as that
-
RUMBLE!!!!!!!! Rely on your own skill rather than a bunch of -blam!-ing horrible randoms.
-
Yes so no idiot getting a kill instead of capping the control......
-
Yeah, now instead of people killing and ignoring the objective like in control. Now they'll kill and complete the objective
-
1 ReplyNo, because a heck of a lot more people are going to be running around with a Rangefinder Conspiracy Theory-D... I can guarantee it. With Control, it is easier to find a good sniping lane and pick off those at a Zone Flag.
-
I personally don't care that much. It's nice to finally see an IB that's not control though, and you won't have to worry about that one guy flipping spawns and screwing the game up. Although it would've been cool for them to do kinda like a mosh pit of the 6v6 game modes, mainly control, clash, and rift. Possibly even mayhem clash and combined arms.
-
I can't say if this is good or bad but hell at least they are trying something different. Hope it's not as bad as when the trials maps where random.
-
Considering how my teamates never helped in capping flags, it might as well have been clash.
-
1 ReplyYeah but I don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain
-
It's better then randoms not knowing how to play control
-
3 RepliesNo.. Who plays clash? I mean besides when its the daily
-
Either clash or zone control IMO
-
Absolutely yes. Clash is simply better than control. Many of the maps shouldn't be control because the control points positioning are awful (think anomaly and cauldron). You can enter with smaller fireteams without worrying too much that blueberries will cost you the game as long as you play well. It's not as shotgun friendly because you aren't forced to crowd areas. Control on a good day, is crap.
-
Hell ya I'm balls deep
-
2 RepliesYes, because the retard randoms in IB don't play the -blam!-ing objective.
-
Edited by Miofwin: 11/13/2015 4:19:22 AMYes, because now my kills and points won't be undermined and made less by scrubs.
-
I like clash lol its better then control I mean in control your team has to play the objective in clash its simply just kill the enemy
-
4 RepliesIts better than control, but ideally in my opinion iron banner should be more like a combination of control and salvage where there is one point somewhere on the map to contest
-
So no we dobt have to freak out when we connect with -blam!-ing idiots who dont play the objective during Control
-
Now I won't have to capture points alone while every other teammate is running around doing nothing but twirling their thumbs and rubbing their wangers
-
I'll say this the reson they changed it is because Spohn trapping n shit like that
-
Adaptive game play. Forces different strategy and changes technique.
-
People treat it like clash either way
