The Story of Three Guardians- Part 1
I decided to give this storytelling thing another go, since my other one got a lot of positive feedback. For those of you interested..https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/167104216/0/0
"How's it looking, Warlock?" The Titan said, gasping as he reloaded his auto rifle. "Hmm.." The warlock peaked over their pitiful excuse of cover, before quickly ducking back down as several rounds of a shrapnel cannon flew over his head. He reached his arm over and blind fired several shots of his Omolon hand cannon. He sighed. "Would you like the long answer or the short one?" The warlock replied, putting another cartridge into his gun. "Give it to me straight." "The fallen really, really want us dead." "Hm. Figures," The Titan said, getting up and firing his auto rifle like no tomorrow, before his shoulder was nailed by a few shock rounds. He growled in pain and resumed his position behind cover, a mixture of smoke and Arc resonating off his wounded shoulder. "Argh, damn.." He breathed. "Can't even take a few pot-shots without a shock rifle eyeing you down." "Indeed, friend. I feel stupid letting the fallen corner me like this, and the two of us certainly can't take them all on. Say.. Where's the Hunte-" Before the Warlock could even finish his thought, a loud explosion was heard, causing the both of them to cover their ears as they began to hear a shriek coming from above them. A body came crashing down in front of them, landing face first into the dirt as the rest of his body went into a scorpion pose. He got up, shaking his head and turning around to face the other two Guardians. "Oh. Hey guys." The Hunter spoke, dusting off his cloak. The Warlock chuckled. "Good to see you alive, Hunter! That was a rather interesting entrance you made." "Yeah, good to see you still kicking. If ya don't mind me asking.. How did you survive out there in that hellzone?" The hunter adjusted his hood. "I'm glad you asked! So there I was, being the badass I was born to be. Bullets flew past my face, I was outnumbered a hundred to one, and my cloak was not looking too frabjous. I desperately summoned my ole super-flaming-mega-ultra-unstoppable-flamboyant-pistol of ultimate power- The warlock interrupted, "You mean Golden Gun?" The hunter clicked his tongue and pointed at him, "The Goldenest of Guns. I aimed it, proud and true, and fired off as many shots as my remaining Light would let me. And as expected, I managed to kill a nice group or two of those suckers. Impressive, right?" The Hunter smirked. "I suppose. But, if you were doing so well out there.. How did you end up back here..?" The Warlock asked. The Titan also was interested in his answer. "Oh. Well, um.. After I exhausted my solar light, I panicked and threw a trip mine, right at one of their captains. It kinda sorta bounced right off his ugly helmet. And.. Back at my feet.." "Where it blew up and sent your ass flying right back over here." The Titan said, shaking his head. "Hey! It was a tactical escape. I totally planned it. I just made it look like an accident so the Fallen would think they had me on the ropes. Then, I'd have the opportunity to show them that they are SADLY MISTAKEN!" The Hunter peaked over cover and began firing his scout rifle like mad, unintentionally missing every shot, until his gun was shot right out of his hands. "Gah! Ow, ow, ow!" He slumped down behind cover and he began massaging his palm. He looked over at the Titan, who was currently firing his auto rifle before he heard a familiar click click and threw the gun aside. The Warlock was in a similar situation, except he held on to his pride and threw his handcannon at the mass of fallen, where it bounced off the metallic hide of a Shank, and was stomped into the dirt by a dreg. The hunter sighed. "We're gonna die, aren't we?" "Yep." "Looks that way." The Hunter smiled. And put his hands on each of his comrades shoulders. "Well, guys. It's been cool fighting by your side. We've had our differences, but in the end, we're brothers. And I'm proud to say that." "It's been a privilege having you as a friend, and also as a teammate." The warlock said. The Titan nodded, "Yes.. What an honor it has been. Traveller's light, Guardians." "Traveller's light." "Traveller's light..." They sat together, closed their eyes and awaited for their impending doom as the fallen marched against their position. But, before death graced their existence, pillars of blinding light started impacting the ground, vaporizing the fallen in mere seconds. As the pillars of light impacted the ground, it felt like the earth was being shook. Like they were at the epicenter of an earthquake. "W-WHAT IS THIS!?" The Hunter yelled. "I'M NOT.. SURE!" The Warlock yelled back. "BOTH OF YOU! LOOK!" The Titan pointed directly up, as another pillar of light came crashing down, knocking each one of the Guardians out cold. --------------------------------------------------------------- "Titan.." he heard a voice. A soft, alluring voice. "Oh, my dear Titan.." The voice rung out again. The Titan slowly opened his eyes, the voice he heard had to be one of the sweetest he's heard. Ever. It was feminine. It was like he had knew it his entire life, it made him feel.. At home. The voice giggled. "Are we awake now?" The Titan had his eyes wide open. He was in a room, completely white, with no door or end in sight. He looked in front of him. There sat a woman, with white skin and flowing gray hair, adorned in a dress that had the legendary symbol upon her her chest. Destiny. "Who.. Who are you?" The Titan asked. "Am I dead?" "You are not dead. But, you are no longer in the realm of the living. Don't worry, though, I'll have you back in tip-top shape. If I don't, who will protect the city then?" "I guess you're right.." The Titan breathed in deep. He smelled the air and it smelled faintly of.. Vanilla? "I am. I've Travelled many places. Travelled to many worlds.. But, this one, Earth.. And it's people.. I can't say I've found another civilization more interesting than yours. That is why your people was given a golden age. I wanted to see you prosper. To grow. To see humans push far beyond their limitations." "But.. That all ended in the collapse.." The Titan spoke. "Yes. The Darkness came, and destroyed everything. Like it was never there to begin with.." The woman got up and walked over to the Titan, still having no idea who or what she was. "That is why you were reborn. To fight. To reclaim. To take back everything we lost. To protect what is left of humanity. You are a Titan. A wall. An unstoppable force. Go. And show the darkness that we will not be stamped out." "I.. I will. I swear on it!" The Titan said, confidently. "Good. Make me proud, Guardian." "But wait! You still haven't told me who you are.." The woman smiled. "Oh, me?" She lowered herself, and whispered to the titan. I am what makes you strong. And that moment, The Titan's eyes were blinded, and everything grew quiet. ---------------------------------------------------------------- "Have you ever wondered what the liquid inside Omolon guns are?" "Yep. When I was stationed on Mars, I actually got curious and drank it. Not gonna lie, it was really refreshing. But I ended up pissing precision shots that entire week. Not as fun as it sounds." The Titan groaned as he sat up, interrupting the conversation between the two other Guardians. "Huh.. What happened?" "Oh, look he's up. Told ya he wasn't dead." The Hunter continued looking at the awaking Titan. "Hello, there Titan. Nice to see you with us," The Warlock said. "Thank you. But what happened..? And where are w-" The Titan stopped talking, as he realized his hands were restrained by iron clad hand cuffs. He looked at his comrades and realized that they too were restrained, and they were currently sitting in a dark cell, most likely in the bottom of a Fallen Ketch. The Hunter held out his arms, showing off his restraints. "We got captured." To be continued.
It was really fun writing this, and I hope you guys enjoy! This one was a little more serious than the other one, but I plan to make this one into a series, with humor along the way! Thanks for reading!
