In it's current state, it's hard, time-consuming, boring, and requires way too much time to be able to rank up your gunsmith rank. No one wants to wait for a week to be able to continue to rank up the Gunsmith. Currently, there are only two ways to increase your gunsmith reputation. Testing, and a quest item drop too rare to be considered viable. I think there should be more ways to increase your gunsmith rank, as well as more gear to get from it besides meh weapons you have to wait every week for. My ideas for ranking up the Gunsmith include: 1) Bounties- I think there should be bounties you can complete and turn in to increase your Gunsmith rank. Such as: Use (weapon type) and kill (# of enemies) or Use (burn type) against (type of enemy), etc. 2) Short quest lines- These may be worth more than bounties, but are more rare and time consuming. There should be quest lines like Kill (# of people) in crucible with (weapon type), then find (some drop) from killing an ultra, take it back to Banshee-44 and turn it in for 500 rep points. I also want there to be more loot to be gained from ranking up your gunsmith. I really like the class exclusive gear, and would love to see more added to Destiny. The Tlaloc, Ace of Spades, etc. are awesome weapons that are fun to brag about to your Titan friend and vice versa. I also think each time you level up your gunsmith, you should be able to choose one of your orders to redeem early. What do you think? If you have any more ideas, comment them below.
