With the patch update 2.0.0 of Year Two for Destiny, I happened to realize that my game started crashing with the screen being frozen, but sound continuing to play.
After several tests, I came to the conclusion that it is the Force Barrier ability for the Defender subclass of the Titan. I want to mention this is my personal case and experience, it may result in a different scenario for other players, but I made another post with a poll and more than 10 players (cross-platform) concluded with the same situations.
Here are the cases which ended in crash, every single time:
- Activation of Force Barrier by meleeing an enemy, then trying to melee again results in screen freezing.
- Activation of Ward of Dawn (bubble), then exiting the bubble and after meleeing an enemy FB is activated, as soon as I entered the bubble game crashes, seems to be because the addition of Weapons/Armor of Light.
- Having a buff or ability modifier from a third party, and then activation of Force Barrier by meleeing an enemy, results in crash.
The ways I have avoided screen freezing:
- Not meleeing while Force Barrier is active, meaning I can only melee in it's cooldown time without the ability being active.
- Waiting for the FB ability to despawn, usually 4-5 secs., then I am able to enter the bubble if any other player activated it or my own if it is still existing.
I assume that by patch 2.0.1 this will be fixed, clearly moderators and game personnel test Destiny after every patch because of the size of this amazing project. My only request is for the community to help me bump this subject, so it is known asap.
The rest of the content is greatly appreciated and very promising, today I bought the expansion, seems to be awesome! :-)
I am also posting this so other players that do not count with expansion(s) will not suffer from this bug.
Thanks in advance.

It's happened to me twice. Both times on the Defender subclass, but seemingly random. I just attributed it to that bug Bungie's been talking about with the multiple status effects.
