As part of the 2.0 Patch Notes, it is stated that the Map Bots in the Tower have been removed. Why? Is this intended as a space saving measure? Again, WHY? I realize that a fair number of dirty tricks must need to be pulled in order to minimize the space needed to cater to the previous gen consoles - but why should this affect current gen as well? Especially when our install size is nearly double (from roughly 10MB to 17-18MB)?
It may seem like a stupid, silly little thing, and I am sure that your player metrics show how EXTREMELY rarely these bots were used outside of the first time or two visiting the Tower. My response is this: Destiny is moving towards a more immersive, engaging experience in regard to story - the new quest-lines clearly show this (Bravo on those by the way). So why take away even a minor detail that adds to that?
I was just looking at the maps in the last week, in fact, marveling at how much unexplored space there seemed to be - could it be possible that one of those great big doors in the Events section might open at some point? Or the enormous one across from the Speaker's Chamber - where Xur lurks in the shadows on occasion? In fact, it also helped to settle an old forum argument that had been tickling at the back of my mind - some user who I no longer recall had claimed that the door across from the Speaker was in fact THE SAME door across from Lord Saladin's post (when he visits the Tower). The map clearly showed that to be false - not least because of a substantially difference in height - you go UP to the Events area, and DOWN to Tower North. Perhaps there are passageways that connect them, but...
Ultimately, it seems like a trivial thing. Which is exactly why it perplexes (and clearly irks) me that it was removed. Why bother? Why take away even a small element of added immersion? If it is the space saving issue - when are the former gen consoles going to stop holding the current gen back?
(Full disclaimer, I own both generations of consoles, but play Destiny on the current).
I'd love to hear something official on this, or the thoughts of other players.

I'm surprised last gen hasn't crashed yet
