Weapon Parts getting scarce
Ever since weapon reforging became a thing my weapon parts have been quickly depleting and not nearly as quickly recovering. It's not like Destiny rains loot on you so your only other choice would be to buy a weapon and dismantle it for one or two weapon parts. Yea, no not doing that, so either bump up how much weapon parts you get from dismantling a weapon, GIVE US MOAR LOOT, or make the gunsmith sell weapon parts.
[b][u]Current ways to get weapon parts:[/u][/b]
800 glimmer for 1 rare weapon
540 glimmer for 1 rare weapon engram
A [i]SMALL CHANCE [/i]of getting a weapon drop from Vanguard or Crucible.
Farming queen chests (patrol) for a [i]CHANCE [/i]to get a weapon engram
Trials of Osiris after 7wins the legendary weapon is available for purchase for 500 glimmer. Not bad.
[b]Reminder: All engrams have a chance to turn into a mote of light or strange coin, again lowering your chances.
Also, throwing exp on any gear or weapons will give you more of that material drop. [/b]
[b][u][i]NONE[/i][/u][/b] of these are convenient or rewarding for the amount of time you have to spend grinding for weapon parts.
Unless I'm the only one having this problem?

1 ReplyI have taken to holding onto the green weapons and equipping them when I turn in bounties once all the circles are complete they dismantle for 3-4 weapons parts apiece. Usually only takes 1 of the 5k xp bounties to complete the circles on the greens. The blues take 3-4 bounties so not as practical. So if you equip a primary, special, and a heavy green turn in one 5k xp bounty it should get you 9-12 weapons parts each bounty. Just to be clear I just finish the circles I don't spend anything on filling the circles.

10 RepliesI had 100+ parts three days ago I have 36 now Granted I bought a ton of upgrades and ascended SGA to 365 and reforged a bunch of stuff, but I do patrol missions so shouldn't I be getting a bunch of weak guns to dismantle?

Bump. I think weapon parts, Plasteel plating, Saphire wire, and Hadronic essence should be purchasable with strange coins or glimmer.

2 RepliesIt would make sense for the Gunsmith to sell weapon parts for marks, just like you can with the planetary materials. Either that or you could just grind the hell out of strikes. That works too.

I advocated implementing an exchange program similar to the one they added at vanguard armory for materials. I'd love to spend my marks on weapons parts instead of them just sitting at cap week after week with nothing for me to spend them on; meanwhile my weapons parts rarely get to above 50 now of days. They need to unfvck their game economy.

1 ReplyIf you buy the first perk that only costs glimmer, you can get more weapon pts. Se goes for armor pieces and sapphire wire etc Not a fix but it helps and theyre like 95 glimmer

2 RepliesIf you get 7 wins in trials you can buy as many of the guns as you can afford and break them down. At 500 glimmer they are the cheapest weapon parts on the game. You can push the number up by farming exclusion zone for more glimmer too

One of the ways I used to farm weapon parts is simple chest loops. Run around Ember Caves for an hour, you should get a decent amount. Its been a while since I did that though. I can't remember any solid numbers.

Your not the only one. My hunter was made day 1 and it's just now reached below 100 weapon parts. None of the vendors sell weapon parts and I was angry at house of wolves release because they showed the speaker selling weapon parts but guess what. They took that out and now look at where many of us are at that don't got time to grind like these little kids or people who play and make money off of this game. If they had the speaker or gunsmith sell weapon parts no one would be in this jam and it could save a lot of time for people who don't have time.
