Suggestion - Future PvE Events.

Hi folks, I've been thinking about Queen's Wrath, and the possibility of future PvE focused events and I wanted to share with you the ideas that have been bouncing around in my head for a little while. To start off I wanted to let you all know I had also made another post, a while back now - about the addition of a new game mode focusing on defending the Wall in a Horde type mode - and if you're interested in that you can find it here. I've also written a suggestion for new bounties and strike types here. But on to my topic at hand, PvE Events. First and foremost I'd like to lay the foundation of my ideas for the Events - and that's Grimoire Story-telling. We know the Story in Destiny could be stronger, but the Grimoire cards are fantastic bites of lore and knowledge that could be expanded upon to really pump more story into our universe. And so, my idea is to make these PvE events become the center for focused story-telling on a particular element of the story using the Grimoire - and the grimoire cards that unlock with each event unique to that particular event. If you miss it, you'll have to catch up next time, but the grimoire continues to expand, it does not just repeat the same cards every repeat event. In short - the PvE Events should be Story Focused. Obviously, quest chains would still reward weapons/armor, but more on that later. Basically, during a PvE event (Let's use the Queens Wrath for an example here,) the player would participate in the event, picking up Quest chain bounties (much like Eris' quests) from the Queen's Emissary. Each quest would unlock a series of Queen's Wrath grimoire cards unique to that particular event, at that time - that provide greater context and focused story about the Queen, the Reef Awoken - perhaps The Nine, The Crows and The Fallen. There are many other characters we can use as vessels from the current story to base future PvE events on as well. The Exo Stranger could be used as another PvE focused event. - She arrives on one a planet, in Patrol, or in the Reef Social Area - and she functions in the same way as the above - giving out Quest lines that unlock another significant portion of the grimoire unique to her event and story. This time however, the cards are about the Vex, and some portions of the Darkness - and the future. She finally has time to explain what she didn't have time to explain before. Toland the Shattered is another character that could have a focused event - He is discovered hiding on The Moon, in a research base near the Hellmouth. Seek out his knowledge of the Hive and The Darkness - and help redeem him so that he can return to the Tower and contribute to the fight again. Toland is an amazing character in the universe, a brilliant warlock and one of the most knowledgeable people ever on the Hive and the Darkness. His Quest chains and grimoire cards give the players more of an idea of what The Darkness actually IS, it's true goals - and perhaps a way we can defeat it. The story is Hive based, because of his close relationship to the Hive. The Speaker is another character we can use. After the story ends, he becomes a salesman. His focused event and quest-lines could have us gathering information, amass resources and restore Light to help heal the Traveler. His grimoire cards could tell us of The Great Battle, The Collapse, and give us a deeper understanding of the Traveler and WHY we fight for it. They could provide the very basis and reason to why we are at war, of why we care about the Traveler. Perhaps we can learn about each Race's experiences in the Collapse - the devastation the Darkness wrought on our people, and how we MUST prevent it from happening again. The "Why" is always important. The Vanguard are also examples of characters left behind after the story - but they offer so much potential. Perhaps each of the Vanguard could have a quest chain, one for each class - that rewards players with their Final Subclass. The Vanguard has the potential to help the player further invest in their character from a story stand-point as well, perhaps there is room for us to explore who our character was and more importantly IS through these quest-chains - and who they want to become. It's a real opportunity to bring emotional investment into the game - and to bring more depth into the character's Class lore. I want to know more about the Titan order - I want to meet them, and I want to fight with them against the Darkness. Perhaps the enemy that we must focus on with the Vanguard's event changes every event - because they do fight all four enemy races. If you've made it this far - thanks for reading my ideas so far - I hope that they've at least inspired you. Now, we as Guardians, not only need inspiration and a reason TO fight, we also need the Tools to fight with - and PvE events should work just like the Iron Banner does currently - in terms of gaining reputation and earning special rewards that change with each event. Once the main Quest line for an event is completed, Bounties will then unlock - requiring (just like Queens' Wrath) us to perform specific actions against the Darkness which will in turn raise event reputation, which resets at the end of the event. Purchased weapons/armor from said events could be Reforged - like the Iron Banner, for Motes of Light. This will add more variety and more loadout customization. It also offers PvE players new gear to level and enjoy. Armor for the event would be of the equivalent max Light level at the time, as Iron Banner is. This gives us an even more diverse looking group of max level players. Variety is a great thing, and ways to make our Guardians more unique is something I see requested all the time. The Stranger's gear - for example, could have the futuristic theme like her armor and Rifle. Toland's could look a lot like Bad Juju and the Hive armor, The Speaker's gear could be completely unique - something very grandiose, and the Vanguard sets could borrow from the parts of the armor the Vanguard leaders actually wear, along with Vanguard weapons with similar looks to Vendor gear, with extra parts attached to the in-game model (think Plan C's knife and scope for example). Thanks very much for your time folks, hopefully this is something that could eventually make it into the game in the future, I for one would love more story and more context - and I just really wanted to share my ideas with you all. Thanks again and enjoy the fight Guardians! -Muz out.

 • How about.. The Lorekeeper's Memory (working title) Much like you suggested they hold a grimoire card (you don't know what it is) but you agree to take on the mission associated with it. 1 card for each day of the week. Covering everything from eris's lost patrol, to the fall of Kabr and so on. Each with it's own quest. Get a rewards package for each one completed (tiered reward system). Complete all 7.... get something truely rewarding
