The Great Destiny Depression

Since the release of Destiny there has always been some form of currency or good that players are absolutely desperate for. First, it was Strange Coins, and those fortunate enough to have 17 of them during week 2 got themselves the Holy Grail, the Gjallarhorn. Then it became Materials - Spinmetal, Spirit Bloom, Relic Iron, and Helium Filaments. The more people played, the more loot they got, and the more they wanted to upgrade. This caused a heavy grind for something so simple. The focus then turned on Glimmer. The cap seemed too restricting and the high roller known as Lord Saladin was here to sell us some expensive goodies. So, the Glimmer Grind began as soloists went into The Exclusion Zone and parties went into The Vault of Glass. Things were peaceful for awhile until we required a new good for our Destiny, Heavy Ammo Synthesis. The Draught of Heavy was a tough time for Guardians indeed as Xur seemed to be sold out of this precious good for weeks on end. When he did finally have a supply Guardians filled their Vaults with it and anyone without a large stash was considered a peasant and outcasted. Now, all the things I just mentioned have been resolved in one form or another. Strange Coins are inflated due to the passing of time and most have stopped doing Weeklys all together because of their abundance. Materials are cheap now and can be easily exchanged for Marks - Marks have now adopted the roll as Food Stamp of Materials. The Glimmer cap is still the same but prices have dropped dramatically and everything is much more affordable, excluding the Ceres Galliot. Finally, Supply and Demand does not affect Xur anymore as he seems to have hit a gold mine or rather a Heavy Ammo mine and seems to have unlimited Synthesis. However, since the release of House of Wolves, pieces were accidentally set to start the Greatest Depression Destiny has ever known. Everything is affected by this oversight in the market and our economy is holding on to a thin line of stability. I am, of course, talking about our Weapon Parts. Practically everything is dependant on Weapon Parts for a Guardian's arsenal. Glimmer and Materials become useless because without Weapon Parts, they can't upgrade a single thing. Ascending is a struggle as every Exotic requires Weapon Parts to become 365. Re-rolling weapons is a huge consumable to Weapon Parts as it is a slot machine where you keep putting in money until you win - and the chances of winning are set to be very low by the casino. So much of our economy relies on one simple resource, Weapon Parts. But, obtaining large quantities of them is not so simple and all this spending is depleting this resource rapidly. Many Guardians are already broke and living on the street because of this Depression, with only their Thorns and TryHard Sweats to keep them warm at night. So, I say to you today, we must take action and end this deprived state our Destiny is in, we must fix what is wrong and re-create a flowing economy. WE MUST BE ABLE TO EASILY PURCHASE AND/OR EXCHANGE WEAPON PARTS! Seriously, Bungie. What the -blam!-?
