What would it take to make The Taken King worth $40?

Regarding Bungie's history of reusing the same maps they will have this Taken raid on Crota's map turned backward. Perhaps they will reuse the Vault of Glass on it's side and backward and try to convince people that it is something completely different. Maybe Bungie will turn the tower backward and then tell everyone it is a new social space. Despite the "talking heads" of Destiny constantly saying how great House of Wolves has been, I believe it was (and is) under-average and there is little to keep me busy until Taken King drops. Considering the underwhelming and buggy content of The Dark Below and House of Wolves I doubt Taken King is going to be worth $40 unless it is equal in size to the original game. A good portion of it had better be material never seen before. What do you think it would take to make The Taken King worth $40?

  • Three new subclasses already did it for me! Lol Would like to see.... BEARDS!! LOL at least a makeover tavern, call it "The Guardian Spa" could be in a hotsprings area you fast travel too from the tower and for a strange coin, mote of light and 1000 glimmer, you can switch your race and appearance. Patrol and a new quest line on mercury and Europa(we need a change of scenery and a frozen wasteland and burning inferno would be AMAZING!! The two opposite extremes would add to the experience). Next gen only with more vault space and all the rescrictions of 360 and PS3 lifted! Space combat, power would matter in quality of ship and perks you use. A patrol like activity could be added to it as well, roaming the stratospheres of each planet, reef and moon. Doesn't matter to me but make EVERYTHING OPTIONAL MATCHMAKING for the guardians that don't only want it but NEED IT!!! Trading amongst friends who have played together in a fire team TOGETHER for at least 75 HOURS collectively on one account.... NOT per class.

  • Matchmaking, crafting, 3rd subclasses, 2 New weapon types, trading, all weapons unnerfed in PVE, 2 New planets, 6 man strikes and patrol, material exchange for marks and xp again, raid, transmog, higher glimmer and mark caps, and humane game design.

  • Imo is worth it it has the same amount of content than vanilla Destiny and is 20$ cheaper. I hope the new season pass is not to expensive.

    They would have 3-4 new strikes, 1 raid, 5-6 new crucible maps, 2 new planets, 1 new subclass and race. Also a 2 new enemy races to go on those new planets. A 4th guardian to fit in the new race.

    • I'll hold off this time. There's a point where a little more of the same gets exhausting. Was really hoping for ship battles or a new planet, or really something compelling. The raids aren't fun, just stressful.

      • With a few great games coming out in the fall, it's gonna take a lot to hold my attention. Don't get me wrong I enjoy what I have now, my friends still enjoy playing but I never immediately jump into raids, I enjoy PvE more than PvP. I'll wait to see the trailers and game play, if it doesn't impress me; then I'll save for other games.

        First of all AR should be dominant in midrange and scout long range. Right it's like this... Long Range - hand cannon Mid Range - hand cannon Close range - hand cannon. And too much shotgun please. Not Right.. They should... Increase the heavies time Fix the lag (dedicated servers) More exotic bounties Better crucible maps

          I'm not pre ordering this one..I'm going to wait and on September 16th look at these forums for feedback. And if no matchmaking I'm completely out .

        • 3-4 strikes 10-12 story missions Crap loads of exotics, every weapon and armor type Extra patrol regions on each planet NEW patrol missions and bounties A GOOD raid. And of course more vault space And those subs! That would do it for me I think.

          • It's already worth it, I have a 2 jobs so money is not a problem for me. I have my reasons for saying it's worth it, but there aren't enough characters to hold my explanation.

          • I don't think I have it in me to pre order, you're definitely right about reusing maps and missions. I haven't done PoE higher than lvl 32 and ToO is really only what gets me on during the weekends. Since HoW has been released my playtime has definitely plummeted.

              Extra subclass, making the titan useful in PvP. Hopefully a titan with a grappling hook/melee of sorts. (Free to players) Make it so you can crouch in mid air. Fix the current game, that means making Final Round useless in PvP, not PvE. Remove "Increased Armor" perk on the Ram. Fix inconsistencies with The Last Word's damage when in Aim Down Sights vs. Not Nerf Thorn to not 2 headshot kill Nerf The Last Word to do 1 more bullet to kill, and increase mag to 10 instead of 8 to adjust. Buff The Last Word's range by 100%, it has the range of a shotgun. A new raid A story campaign which actually feels like a campaign, not 5 minute missions with no cutscenes or background information, plain shooting. At least 5 missions and 5 cutscenes. A new prison of elders boss and room, with the new enemies from the fallen king's DLC (Free to players) 2 or 3 new strikes 3 new multiplayer maps which are ARENA STYLED BUNGIE damnit Make a PROPER levelling system Bungie, one that makes sense, not one that makes me max level in a day after the DLC. I just started a level 1 the other day and got it to level 29 before the day was over, without even doing the nightfall of hard crota/vog. It took me like 2 months to get to that level in Vanilla Destiny. Wtf are you doing with the levelling system it's so dumb. Make it linear, not shortcuts up to near max level.

            • Hard to say but aside from the extra sub-class, I would like a other character slot. Then again, I'm an alta-holic so that request probably doesn't count. The extra raid, strikes and PvP map may be good enough for $40 provided we can get some improvement of the lag in PvP and reduced amount of glitches in PvE. I would also like more vault space as I like to switch between gear. (Based on looks). Once I have enough Etheric light, I'm rolling my old VoG gear again! Oddly enough, I still play this game quite a bit so I'll probably get it anyway.
