Why is everyone hard for Vision of Confluence

Alright so this is my second edit. Things have changed drastically. I've used it quite a bit during PoE lately, and this thing has really grown on me. I absolutely love it now!! MIDA will always remain my favorite, but VoC is now a very close second. It just took some time to grow on me, but now I see what you guys were talking about. My original post is in the spoiler if you're interested.
Visions of Confluence is probably the highest praised scout rifle in this game. I have never seen such hype surround a scout rifle before. The majority would take it over the Fang of Ir Yût, and even the MIDA Multi-Tool. To be honest, I just don't get it. I was extremely disappointed when I used this weapon after hearing the hype surrounding it. Solar burn is cool, but not enough to make up for all of its shortcomings. First off, I think it's just not my style of scout. Scout rifles are by far my most used gun type in the game. Over 30k kills with around 73% precision. I prefer higher fire rate like the MIDA or B-Line Trauma. I also do not like red dot sights. I feel exceptionally uncomfortable using VoC, which is a foreign feeling to me when I'm wielding a scout. Secondly, the gun essentially has no perks. Let's take a look: Full Auto: Full auto on a low rate of fire scout rifle seems like the biggest waste of a perk space to me. I've tried the using the perk, and it made no difference at all. I'd much rather have literally any other perk than this one. People have said your finger gets tired.... I've played for 8 hours straight before using the MIDA, and my finger wasn't tired at all. Zen Moment: now on most guns, this perk is sick. One of the best in the game even. But on an already extremely stable scout, it's not even noticeable. VoC is probably the most stable scout I've ever used. Why does it need zen moment? Plus, scouts are already very stable weapons as it is. Again, I'd rather have any other perk than zen moment here. Middle perks: these aren't bad, but they're not great either. Single point sling, perfect balance, and field scout. Again I don't feel like I need perfect balance on a scout. They're the best handling weapons without it. I usually choose single point sling because it makes it feel a bit more like the MIDA, but field scout is probably the most useful perk. Even though I'm ok with a 19 round clip as it is. When I'm looking for scouts, I like for quicker reload perks, since I reload after each kill, and things like staggering rounds, third eye, rangefinder, and firefly. If VoC had one or some of these, I'd love it. But the perks on VoC are so useless, I feel like it doesn't have any at all. I'm not trying to be an ass or anything. I'm actually just wondering what makes everyone love this weapon so much. People specifically love full auto, which baffles me. The only time I use it is for solar burn, or if I'm fighting a ton of wizards. Otherwise, give me almost any other scout rifle before VoC. TL;DR: I think the perks on VoC are useless, and I don't like the fire rate or the sights. I'd take almost any other scout rifle before this one.
• The VoC is a great scout rifle but the rate of fire is a real bummer for me. Compare VoC to MIDA, and MIDA to wolves leash VoC looks pretty bad. Having said that I dont have fang of ir yut so its hard for me to compare the two in terms of elemental damage.

    • VoC is great, it's definitely my go-to primary for solar damage needs. I love the Fang of Ir Yut also but I really prefer hand cannons so I opt for my Fatebringer instead usually. It would be nice if the fire rate was a little more like the B-Line Trauma, but overall I think VoC is definitely one of the best scouts in the game. I love using Mida, though, it makes a great sound and I really like the scope, just wish that scope was a little more powerful and it would be perfect.

      • I'm of the same mind with Fatebringer. Look, yes, they're the best in class, and not just because of the elemental damage. But you can survive most anything in the game just fine with a kinetic primary. It's just the difference between, say, a nice used car and a brand new one. That shoots arc Or solar damage haha.

          • Solar damage full auto so like a low rof super high impact ar...really its not worth discussing...its that good...but on that note...why is everyone so hard for fatebringer...it basically has no perks...id rather TLW for arc burn nightfall

I have another one you need to try, if you learned the ways of Vision, and if you can get this to drop. I recently got the scout rifle with arc damage from Skolas, think its called Wolves Leash. Now I was underwhelmed until I saw woah its a high ROF slightly lower impact scout. COmbined with the right perks for extra damage against fallen, or stunning captains, etc, it can be beast. I love this thing in prison of elders. This thing fires faster than a freaking auto rifle (depending on autos Rate of Fire). I'm not sure if ALL perks are random but mine has increased stability, which is great combined with the insane rate of fire. Its seriously an auto rifle scout rifle. Only issue is....your fingers start to hurt LoL. Small arms is always fun to use it on, but it doesn't really beat a fatebringer w/ small arms. Also an entirely different type of scout, but Gheleon's Demise if you reroll it with firefly and get another 1 or 2 good perks, I rolled with flared magwell for faster reloads to combat the relatively small 16 round clip size, but anyways this is another fun become good with scout rifle. Gheleon's is king of no burn needed scouting, especially with firefly. Its officially my Skolas round 6 primary. Its epic.

                • Its the only auto rifle I'm the game worth using in both PvE and PvP. That's why.

                • I guess it really depends on your play style, although VoC is just overall a good and reliable gun. This is coming from a hand cannon user btw, cause that's the only scout I use now.

                • The only weakness this weapon has on the yielder, is getting carried away with the full auto perk. I always seem to run out of primary faster when using my VoC.

Because Full Auto, when I'm lazy, I just want to hold down the trigger.

                  • It's a very smooth weapon. No real downside, easy to use. Kind of pve on autopilot weapon. No real upside or strengths either. If you're kind of lazy, you can just hold down the trigger and aim somewhere near the crit spot and you'll nail a lot of shots. Something like the Scholar or Fatebringer is much better, but takes more effort to use.

                  • Bad opinions from a bad player if you ask me. 28 round clip, solar burn, max stability, full auto. That's why it's the best. The full auto on this gun mixed with the stability. If we both shot 1000 shots, I'd hit 999 while you'd hit 850 precision. The gun has no weakness and good sights. Red dot is by far one of the best in the game along with the acog scope on the bottom.

                    • I saw your edit, but figured I would throw my 2 cents in anyway. The full auto seems useless at first, but I find it lets me strafe and kill more effectively than with a standard semi-auto SR. I enjoy all the high ROF rifles, but I would dismantle every one of them in favor of the VoC.

                      • It is just very loved because of how simple it is to use. I love it too. Full auto with Zen Moment and Field Scout makes it one of the easiest weapons to maintain steady DPS on a target, always have a ton of ammo, and gives you a burn damage to boot. Super smooth handling and reasonable impact.

                          • Full auto slightly increases the fire rate (even though it doesn't indicate that it does). If it didn't have it you would fire slower and may not like it as much.

                            • VoC and Fang are my go to primaries for PvE, largely down to the stability, impact and elemental combos. I don't use the full auto perk either.
