A Thank You first, and then a Suggestion

Firstly, I wanted to post something positive here. It seems that there are a TON of people who enter this forum to whine and complain about your game. Though each person is entitled to their opinion and have the right to express how they feel, it is these players that give fans of video games a bad name. However, I wanted to thank you and your staff at Bungie. Despite the fact that this game is not perfect, it is easily the most caring game that I have ever played. Very rarely are there developers that listen as intently to their fans as you do, and care for them as much as you have. However, you released this game in September and have been diligently listening to our hopes and suggestions every single day, and please know that your care does not go unnoticed by the majority of us reasonable gamers. Yes, there are plenty of things that I think could still be improved, but overwhelmingly your game has been responsible for making me realize why I love the video game medium so much. Video games are meant to bring people together, give people a world to make their own, and experiences to remember. Destiny has done all of this and more, and I cannot thank you enough for creating this world for us to inhabit. A quick story before I proceed with my suggestion: I received the Destiny White PS4 bundle at launch for my birthday. I had a small collection of friends who owned Playstations (most of my others being accursed Xbox players (j/k ;) ), and so I didn't know what my experience of Destiny, what seemed to be an extremely social game, would be. However, about a week into the game I was playing the Winter's Run Strike with two matchmade players. We were chugging through, but were having difficulty as we neared the end. After a few wipes, one of my fireteam members left. Me and the remaining player (KillU2Nite) pushed on and ended up completing the strike as just the two of us. We had claimed righteous victory and it was so sweet. Long story short, Kill became my first Destiny PS4 friend, and we still play regularly together to this day. Because of the Destiny community I have now amassed a friend list of about 100 people I have shared battle with. Amazing. So, in short, thank you. Thank you for making a game that encourages us to get out of our comfort zones. Having been a gamer who preferred single player campaigns, I doubted I would play all the different modes of Destiny. I was proven wrong, and I thank you for that. Now, for my suggestion (I apologize for the long-winded Thank You, but you deserved that). There are a handful of suggestions that I could offer, but the one that seems most pertinent, as Prison of Elders will be a big part of our future for this game, follows here. I spent the past two days fighting valiantly alongside two close friends in attempting to complete the level 34 Qodron boss portion of the Prison of Elders. Though we eventually completed it, the format of the battle seems to discourage defeating Qodron as I think you intended. With all of the factors combined (all enemies more powerful than players, including many major hobgoblins; Trickle modifier; endless additional enemies; Qodron's gaze; 3 second detainment before death), the burdon placed on players seems slightly too daunting a task. With most of these factors the mode would be extremely difficult. With all of them, it is near impassable. Much has been made of the "cheese" method of simply firing Gjallarhorn rockets at the boss right from the start until he is dead. However, if you would prefer players to play the mode as it is intended, which is how I prefer to play, I would make the recommendation to amend the mode slightly. Please again forgive my long-windedness, but I wanted to ensure that I gave you as much to work with as I could. Please have a great day and a wonderful weekend!

    • Aye, my fireteam could not complete it last night, impassable is an apt descriptor. Potential solutions... remove the buff or bubbles mechanic, add Oracles. Give players more time to pop the bubbles, and give the buff to the whole fireteam, the bubbles should not be ridiculously impossible to pop without the buff ( in case you miss or kill the eye too soon ). It's possible, when he (searches for targets) maybe he could bubble only players he has line of sight to. Or, perhaps, instead of bubbles.. He ' searches for targets ' then, if or when he gets lock, he launches Truth missiles with aggressive tracking at one or all party members he gets a lock on.
